Coolant Leak

Can anyone help?

I've just come back from two weeks holiday having left my 2009 scirocco unused at home, and on first start up when I got back, the low coolant warning came up so hand a look and it was low. I topped it up but noticed a steady dripping coming from the drivers side just by the end of the radiator, although couldn't see exactly where it was coming from. Certainly hadn't noticed anything before I went on holiday.

Couple of days later I took it to an independent garage as am 4 months out of warranty. They pressure tested and said there was a leak in the radiator, so car is now booked in for repair next week, but after a further few days of using the car normally, the dripping and loss of coolant seems to have stopped!

All seems very odd, particularly given age and mileage of 38k! Don't want to pay for a new rad if its not needed, but there was definitely a leak from somewhere.

Grateful for any advice or suggestions? Thanks

How did you get on with this? I just paid my dealer £301 to replace the radiator in similar circumstances, also at 38k.

I had the same problem on my 2011 Scirroco GT a month ago. I was losing the coolant slowly. I had to refill it twice within a month. Took it to the dealer and the problem was a leak in the waterpump. Btw, my car is 27,000Km
