Hello guys,
I am new to this forum, I live in Abu dhabi UAE!
My sirocco r has finally arrived I am just doing the paper work, today I went to see it and I was a little bit disappointed!
The car is 2012, night blue, all the extra features are there except one weird thing!!!!
![Frown :(](./images/smilies/frown.gif)
( The car have no sports/comfort button
![Frown :(](./images/smilies/frown.gif)
(( When i went inside the car I looked straight to the salesman and he said U have to order this and I though it was included!!!
Guys does it really make a difference with that feature on? I mean if i drive the car on manual using the paddle shifters wouldn't that give the steering little more muscle??
Thank you

I am not aware of a sport / comfort button.
I know that you can have the car in D for drive or S for SPort...
ANybody else have any other info?

Jamal you are meaning the D & S modes of the DSG box, Basho is referring to the Adaptive/Dynamic Chassis Control which is standard on all models except the 1.4 122 in the UK and varies between standard and optional equipment in all other countries

I've only had my rising blue R for a few weeks and I think moving to sport mode on the shifter just takes the revs higher before changing gear. The sport mode button does make the suspension and steering wheel stiffer. So I think it's 2 different things. Did they not talk to u about it being an option?

Bro... I drive a 2012 mini cooper s! I put the Sports button all time... I just love the throttle sensitivity and the stifness in the steering... I am worry that the Scirocco R without that ACC will tend to be softer than I expect! now the question is: I heard that the car will adapt automaticaly and change the supension based on how you drive it! is that ture?
Regards

Man... could you explain more? I need more opinions guys!!!
Does the car adapt to roads and driving? as change it's mode from normal to sport etc??
p.s I dont care about the comfort mode, it's just the sport that worries me!!!!

Standard suspension is just that standard springs and dampers.
ACC introduces active dampers these do not automatically change between modes but the software will make decisions based on your driving. Comfort tries to maximise driver comfort by softening the damping, Sport stiffens the damping and normal represents a balance similar to standard suspension. ACC also alters the steering weighting but does not adjust throttle response.
ACC can not be realistically retrofitted due to the number components involved.

Thanks for your info bro... so those dampers are already there and with the ACC option you can adjust that manualy? So in my case now the car do not have the ACC option... Will I will be able to feel the sports mode if I drive the car above normal? will the software make it's changes too? or It will remain in normal mode alltime?
Thanks

Personally, I wouldn't fret too much about not having ACC. Don't get me wrong, in the right circumstances it's a pretty trick piece of kit to have, but the only real usable modes are comfort and normal. Sport is simply too harsh, over damped and heavy (in terms of steering weight), which doesn't have anything to do with a car being 'sporty' in the real world (this is on 19" wheels by the way).
I personally would look at it as a blessing and put the money towards a decent set of coilovers and ARB's.

Either way pal, you'll enjoy it never the less as it's a hoot to drive once you get the K04 going. The R isn't offered in night blue over here and I'm actually looking forward to seeing how it suits the R.
