Scirocco Central

Hi guys just took delivery of my 2012 rs scirocco R. It has 150km on it now and I love it. Also in the stable is a 2008 rs golf R32.

Great to se some more cars hitting the Melbourne streets. The RS looks great, I initially thought it was the least interesting colour choice. I was wrong!!

It's great to see some fellow Melburnians joining here also.

By the sounds of things there are at least 3 of us. I'm still months from my car. Haven't got a build date yet but sometime mid March I think. Car due in late June.

In the meantime I hang out here and learn a bunch of stuff.

Not many in Perth either - I imported my 2.0 Tdi 170 with full Rieger bodykit and R8 front end out in Nov '11 and haven't seen any others YET !!

I gather from the local VW watercooled forum that quite a few guys will get their cars by the end of Feb so you should see some in Sydney by April.

Must love your Roc to have put it on a boat to Perth. Presume it is the only one in captivity until some R's arrive.

BTW How does the Dynaudio perform? Ordered it on the basis that the standard system would be modesgt but still haven't heard it.

There will be a nice new Scirocco R in Viper Green getting around in Canberra sometime in the next 1-2 weeks. With 12 months to go on my current lease it was time to start looking and almost straight away I had no further to look. I heard the Scirocco was released and went along for a look, was offered a test drive and was pretty well sold on the spot. Anyway my lease guy found one to my spec in Sydney so I hope to drive up and take delivery either late this week or early next week. Driving the rocco certainly made my current MY08 WRX feel really really old, and a bit slow too. The rocco's DSG box is just awesome and really gets it going quick.

Dynaudio is worth every penny - or cent here in Oz !! The sound quality is superb. Is the RNS510 standard in the R over here ?? Different specs for different countries. All in all I love driving the Roc over here - mine is 2 years old next month and has only done 13k kms - due to sitting in UK most of 2011 in storage until I decided to ship it over. Looking forward to other Perth owners joining Sciroccocentral and Scirocconet - and I can show them some of the little extras to do to personalise their Rocs. TJ

Choice of audio here is limited to RCD510 standard or RNS510 with the sat nav. From what I understand the Dyn is only optioned with the RNS 510.

There must be some Perth guys coming online. Have you joined VW Watercooled for some Aussie connections? Not the depth of knowledge or experience as on here but the dedicated Scirocco threads are starting to expand and it is feeling like a community.
