Volkswagen FINALLY decided to offically bring these into Australia, and I've been waiting since the day they first released them overseas.
I was very happy to pick up my Scirocco R (after growing up with a MK2 Scirocco Karmann in Canada) last Friday, and just thought I should share a picture
many.. many parts to add to it
cheers -ian

Have seen your post on VW watercooled "back" home. Nice shot. It seems there are more cars around in sydney at the moment than elsewhere. I still haven't seen one in Melbourne other than on dealers forecourts.

Looks awesome! What wheels are those and specs if you don't mind

Nice, not a fan of the wheels though, IMO they ruin the look of the car.

I picked mine up from VWRacing UK, wheels are made by team dynamics (1.2's)
18x9, +35
tyres are 255/35R18

it's partly form, partly function for me
have found in years of tracking and tarmac rally events, wheels are a consumable item.
so i like wheels that tend not to bend, but when they do, easy (and cheaper) to replace.
i think the white will tie in a bit better once the rest of the car is sorted, much like my old R32 was

Thnik I'll take them after seeing your pics...
The only problem is that I must stick to 17":(

Here's another site but they don't have 18 X 9 +35

Are you sure it's not +30?

They look quite similar.. I think the rims look really small on the car aswell as making the car look higher.

I think the pics are deceiving, it's actually only 5.7mm lower to the ground and smaller in arc gap...I'm thinking of going for bigger tyres 255/40/18 make the gap smaller and when it's lowered it should look nice...the offset of these wheels are perfect! Love it!

quick update:
finally got most of the engine mods in place; Milltek TBE, VWR intake, HPFP + 145 bar fuel reg, Forge DV + Twincooler
and then finally started getting suspension and such in place; VWR springs, H&R sway bars, Supaloy control arms, VWR engine mounts
next... brakes.. and maybe some wider rubber
