Scirocco Central

As per the title, wondering if its anything to do with the weather but i drove the car a few hours ago then went to go out again just now and the key would not insert into the barrel. It seems like the barrel protector is stuck over the recess so the key can't be pushed in what so ever. Has anyone had any experience of this? Going to try some wd40 tomorrow, just seems strange that it happened so suddenly having only driven it an hour ago!

Have you wiggled the steering whilst trying to put the key I'm ?

Turs out its a fault with the barrell, the white piece of plastic that acts as a dust cover was jammed, awaiting new barrell under warrenty.
