Just wondering are diesel cars ment to like shake when stationary . Like judder forward when handbrakes on?
Went to look at a golf 170 yesterday and was inside with engine running and it just like judderd forward. Is this normal?

Maybe it's the hillhold function. I hate this feature - the brakes are still applied for 2 seconds when you let the brake pedal go and move to the accelerator (to stop you rolling backwards - meant for those that cannot operate the handbrake at the same time as moving off) . There's a resistance and when the brakes let go, they may cause the "judder" you mention when the car moves off, if you are just starting to move off when the hill-hold lets go.
