Just wondering if anybody has come across this before.
Washed the car the car today ( gotta keep it clean! ) dried her off. Had a quick walk round the car admiring the colour as you do. I noticed that one of the headlamps has a "patchy" haze on one of the headlamps. Its not stone chips. It looks like the UV coating is/has gone patchy but the headlamps have not yellowed like some older Audi s you see on the net . The car is only a year old and has halogen headlights with standard bulbs.
Anybody seen this before?
Will have to call in one the VW dealer to see what they say...

Thanks for the reply. Will pop out and see if I can get a photo. Ye, nothing has been placed over the headlights while they have been on. Its not condensation either.
There are no signs of any impact or scratching just normal washing.
UV coating?
Same headlamp with condensation for comparison.

Is it on the outer cover, that covers both lights?
Or is it on the inner (glass?) that is round and covers one light?
If its on the outer, then VW will probably say though luck, must be some nasty spray from a chemical truck or something (I would).
If its the inner, then its another story. You should not be able to access that area at all, hence should not be able to mess with it

Yup, chemical spray. VW? as bianco, tuff luck, not warranty. (Problem not what I thought it was going to be though).
No UV coating. I've a small mark made by some road "glue" they now use to stick top coat chippings down with. Reacted with the cover.
Scrapper headlight off Ebay

Plenty knocking about these days. Lens alone are not spares from VW for some reason.
