12 volt power outlet

I have had problems with a flat battery!
The 12 volt power outlets in the boot and inside the car, are only on when the ignition is turned on which I know is normal
But I have discovered they also give out 8 volts with the ignition turned off, is this Normal?
My car is 2010. Can someone please check if theirs also measures 8 volt with the ignition off, so I will know this is normal and not a problem with my car
Thanks

Yes it is about 8 volts. (8.75volts in my Scirocco)
Its some sort of voltage leakage from the another circuit connected on the same minor busbar circuit the 12v socket is attached to (Aircon/heater or rear wiper motor).
The supply to the sockets is controlled by the main load relief relay (X-contact relief relay) which only gets switched on by the 12 volts ignition.

Just checking something. I didn't order the smoking pack and I'm wondering if anyone knows if the GT comes with a 12V socket (cigarette lighter point) ? It doesn't actually mention it in the list of standard equipment.
Really hoping it does as I use it for charging the laptop and didn't even think to query it at the time

Yes there is one up front and one in the boot. They both only work when the ignition is switched on.

Just double checking that you have the ignition on when testing them?
If dealer is crap, try another dealer as it's a warranty issue if they're not working.

Yes ignition was on when testing. I did book it in with the dealer gave up in the end but checked each fuse in the side pod.
