Goodyear Asymmetric 2's IMHO. Pick up a copy of this months Evo, they've got the 2012 tyre test in and I think the Goodyears came second (from memory).

I changed my Dunlops for Continental Sport Contacts and the car drives so much better with them.

I put conti sport contact 3's on the front and I'm very happy with them too.

Do you guys put the brand new tyres back onto the front axle rather than swapping the rears to the front and have new ones on the back?
My fronts are beginning to look a little secondhand but in the past I have put the new tyres on the back axle.

Good point Andy made though - if going on the rear scrub them in for few hundred miles by putting them on the front first. Never thought about that

Thanks for the tips guys, I can understand the arguments for both front and rear placement of new tyres. It does feel strange initially (as has been mentioned) if you move the rears up to the front.
I have found in the past with other cars that the part worn ones on the front then seem to wear out quite quickly at that point. Maybe as the wear characteristics are suddenly changed this then 'stresses' the tyre and it does not last as long - possibly.
