just approaching 60 thousand miles in my Viper. Averaging 43.6 MPG and have seen just under 140mph (indicated) in Europe. Am about to order another one for May delivery 2012. Same spec, same colour but only because an ASBO orange isnt available!

The Scirocco eats miles!

Only three problems

DSG box failed at 40,000 miles and replaced under warranty
Tyres, apart from punctures they dont last too long

too many white ones - what a crappy colour that is, its nearly as bad as Black and Grey, what about Oak!!!!!!???????? - Scirocco deserves colour FFS

Best car Ive ever had

Driven 50k miles pa for 40 years in a wide variety from fast fords to porkers - Scirocco is the best.

Could not disagree with you more mate. White or rising blue in my opinion!

I've owned my CANDY TDi 170 GT DSG 53,000 on the clock in 21 months no problems except a dodgy headlight. I thought i was going some.
just out of interest how much are you selling your car for?

My 170 DSG is still young, only 35,000 in 20 months. I'm worried by your DSG failure though, was it a big bang or a gradual decline?

Mine's getting a bit clunky on the changes from 2nd to 3rd under heavy throttle, and occassionally behaves as though a clutch is slipping setting off from junctions... :?

Moving past what colour it is, and the well reasoned arguments over TSI v. TDI...

What were the symptoms of the DSG failure?

Hi
it started sounding like a very loose bag of spanners - it was put down to a cooler failure - and replace under warranty

Hi
its contract hire - so I have no idea what it will be sold for.

Cant think of an alternative - its that good.

specially in diesel - dont understand why the petrol version is being sold - Ive found the diesel version to be far quicker in the "real world"

see ya

Hi, the only symptom was that it started making a noise like a very loose bag of spanners - but still drove. Took it to the VW dealer who listened
to it and gave me a spare car. The service manager rang me later in the day to say that they had stripped it out of the car and that the cooler had failed. First that VW have ever had, apparently.

Anyway the box was replaced under warranty and the feels no different to the first one. I leave it in sport all the time together with the chassis setting.

Fabulous car.

see you

stan

As a Candy (best colour IMHO as it shows of the lines better than any other) owner, albeit with a wrapped black roof, I've got to disagree with you on that one.

However got to agree with the 'orange'. Order a Candy, save yourself £300, and put it towards a full, orange, wrap!

Go on, you know you want to!!
