Anyone got any thoughts on these Average Speed Camera's? Seem to use them to enforce 50mph, how strict are they as when i've been on the motorways i've seen cars & lorries doing 55/60mph. So are these vehicles getting caught by the camera's or is there abit of flexibility thrown in before they get flashed?

I believe you should get the same margin as a fixed camera - as a guideline this would be 10%+2mph before you would be prosecuted. And also as the speedo wil over-read, 55 is probably 51/52 so within the margin. If they're being particularly arsey then they could prosecute for 51mph since that's above the posted speed limit.
It's amusing watching people slow down (to the posted limit) for the cameras then boot it again once past - don't think they get the concept of average speed.

I heard somewhere, that if you change lanes whilst in the restricted area, then the cameras wont activate,as each camera only focus on one lane.
Maybee someone could clarify this.......Or not.

This is one reason I specced cruise control. Get to the limited zone, get the car to 50, SET. Sit back and relax
