Hi Ople. I'm in the same situation as you. I've been told to expect delivery mid July. I placed my order at the end of March, so waiting another 6 weeks for a 62 plate is probably worth it. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I've just been told end of July delivery. My invoice delivery estimate said end of June, so I'm fairly disappointed. Dealer still had no idea of a build week date though. It was ordered on the 9th April btw.

Well finally got confirmation that mine is confirmed as being built in week 25. So hopefully not much longer....!

Finally took delivery of my car on Friday 11th May 2012, and I haven't stopped smiling since!

Noticed your in Halesowen, I'm not too far away. Did you order it from Stourbridge?

Yes mate, Stourbridge it was. Only went in for a Golf brochure - came out with a scirocco!

Kind of the same here, only went to look around next thing I'm ordering one!

Had a call from my dealership yesterday afternoon.

Week 25 build, which I guess is about now.

Who are you dealing with at Stourbridge mate? I only ask because you have been given a build week, and I've received almost no info at all. Kinda frustrating!!

My new baby has just arrived in the UK awaiting collection, so should be available mid July.

So jealous Stretts, especially as I ordered mine before yours!!

The guy I am dealing with is Ken, too be honest only recently started to get some info. It was originally down as June as I ordered it early March! Now just waiting to hear if definitely built last week and when being shipped etc.

Had an update to confirm production was complete in week 25 so just hope it now gets shipped ok.

Mine is confirmed as build week 29. A little disappointing, but at least some information! Hopefully delivered last week of July/ first week of august.

Picking mine up this weekend!! Excited

Phone call from the dealers this morning, my new baby is ready for collection. Will collect him on Friday afternoon.

Some more info finally.. Apparently mine was on a ship on Monday of this week and should arrive in the UK on Friday. So now gone past the 4 month since ordering point but hopefully only a week or maybe 2 still left to wait. Called VW customer services in the end to get this info as dealer had advised in the hands lof VW UK so thought I would get an update from the horses mouth.

Also a coincidence got a letter from VW UK today apologising for the delay and supply has not been meeting demand etc etc and got £50 vouchers for the inconvenience.. Anyone else get a letter to that effect?!

First things first for my opening post - Excellent forum and have already picked up tons of useful information from all you folks, so thanks very much!

On deliveries etc I've just had a good natter with the folks on the VW Customer Service line, after getting fed up with no info from my dealers about anything, and they were very helpful. They were able to tell me all about my car, even gave me the chassis number which is nice but probably of no use to me at all! At least it proves it exists I guess

My order went in on 11th May and it has been built (forgot to ask which week) and is currently onboard a ship due to arrive in Sheerness today. They estimated it should be with the dealer in a week or so. Not holding my breath with my dealership though...

Importantly VW also confirmed it definitely has the MY13 spec so that means all the new toys for the 1.4 Tsi 160 - RNS315, DAB radio, Multi function steering wheel etc are on there. I'd been starting to rattle myself a bit, convinced that my order would somehow have the old spec because of uncertainty about when the MY13 builds started. My dealers just don't seem to care about finding these things out, amazing how different experiences on here seem to have been with different dealerships.

Now I just have one problem that you good people may be able to help with. I am going to be unable to pick up the car for 3 weeks if it isn't ready before next Friday, so that takes us to the middle of August. Question is, do I wait until the start of September to have it registered and pick it up, thus getting onto the new '62' reg? Friends I've asked seem to be split on what difference it makes but the only thing I possibly can see as mattering is on the resale value due to people seeing the reg and the natural desire to want the newest car possible. Anyone got any opinions on if this will matter?
