Scirocco Central

Ordered a new Tdi GT 170 today, and the dealer said there was one available awaiting dealer allocation which I could have - meaning it should be ready to pick up in 1-2 weeks?

So will this basically be a cancelled order / one sat at the port / in a showroom somewhere?

I'm not sure if the fact that mine is a company lease car is the reason i've been lucky with the date. I have a feeling that VW finance (Inchcape) have a certain allocation of vehicles per month?? I could be way off the mark but i did manage to get my build date confirmed pretty quick (its being built this week).

Perhaps i have just been extremely fortunate. I ordered it from VW Cheltenham.

I ordered a TDi GT170 at the end of Feb and its now expected to arrive in July having first been told May. It turns out the delay is due to a GT spec change which apparently means I have managed to get leather seats and sat nav for free (or so the dealer tells me!)....

I`m very similar, ordered 21st of Feb and told the end of may, now I`ve got a confirmed build of week 23, the wait seems to go on and on! but at least I get a few extras for the wait.

Just missing all this great weather, would have been good to get out in a brand new scirocco in this!

Hey guys,

I ordered my GT TDI 140 at the start of April, and the dealer said end of June delivery. Fingers crossed! It's been a long 2 months already :-(

Can't believe how lucky I've been with my order. Ordered it on Sunday, it has arrived at the dealer today, and I'll be picking up on Tuesday! Excited now

Ordered mine on the 14th April, and got a build week confirmed for Week 25! Was hoping for it to be earlier, fingers crossed theres no delays

I ordered my car on 23rd of April and iv'e just been told week 26 for build.

Does anyone know roughly how long it takes from the build week to get that car?

Arrrgggghhhhhh....

Just chased the dealer to find out the latest on my car only to be told its now in stock but they're unable to raise the paperwork yet because of an interal pricing error!!!! Obviously great news its in stock but gutted that i can't get my hands on her yet!! Hurry up VW!!!

Odd, I ordered mine on the 25th and have been told it's being built week 25. Then a further 6 weeks until I'm able to pick it up, so I'm just going to hold out for the September registration plate.

Dealer phoned on friday to tell me that my car was at "stage 80, which means it's about to be assigned a build date" Has anyone ever heard of this, or was it a classic dealer fob-off? Still looking like a July delivery :-(

Well finally a build date at the start of July...(ordered last week of Feb!) So looking at about nearly 6 months from order to delivery.

Staffer I feel your pain, I been waiting since January, I hope you don't get any further glitches mate.

My new baby is being built next week week 24. Should have it mid July

Woohoo... Picking up Vinnie the Viper tomorrow at 2pm.. Cannot wait.. I am so excited. At long last my wait is over.. Cannot take this smile off my face ;0)

Just got the BIG call today...Week 28 (Confirmed).
Should receive it mid August!

Been reading these pages for a while and finally signed up. My build date is next week (week 25). Need to know if it's worth waiting for the September registration change or not?
