I disagree. White isn't difficult to keep clean at all. You can see all of the dirt, for starters. If it was a black car you'd miss the tar spots etc and they'd soon become more and more stubborn to shift.

Besides, cleaning a white car is probably more rewarding that any other. Visible progress is instant after all!!

On my 2007 Seat Leon, the folding mirrors work by either turning the mirror switch thru 180 degrees, OR when you lock if you hold the lock button for a few seconds it closes the windows and sunroof and folds the mirrors, not sure if this works the same on the Roc?? (oh and when you unlock if you hold the unlock button it opens the windows too)

The heater... and not just because of the current arctic conditions. Takes ages to warm up, even then pathetic warmish air to the footwells. Once warm, turning down a tiny fraction from 26C, air is freezing. No fine control possible at all.

When I get a chance I'm taking it into the dealer, but I'm sure they'll say 'it gets hot, it gets cold, whats the problem..', but honesty, I have not had such a poor heater in a car for 20 years and that was an old Morris Ital!

I've got a very similar problem with my heater/aircon. But also the engine is running cool. VW Technical at Milton Keynes has told the dealer workshop a week ago finally getting to 90'C indicated after 15 to 17 mins is normal!! (Rubbish).

Yes, yes, I forgot to mention that... in the recent cold weather, my left foot gets quite cold even after the engine has reached full operating temp, unless I up the cabin temp to higher than comfortable for the rest of me. Putting all the heat down to the footwell can allow the screen to start misting if it's damp. Also I also find that the thermostat does seem to be a bit variable (unless I've started getting hot flushes). Sometimes I wish manufacturers of modern cars would offer an "everything-manual-and-we'll-spend-the-money-on-quality-running-gear-components" option, very little of this auto-stuff really works well in my experience.

Plus... I wish the auto-dipping mirror would stay off everytime I start (maybe there's a menu option to change the default, I haven't checked this), sometimes it's worth having a bit of dazzle from an idiot with badly adjusted lights but not lose all the action if there are other vehicles with dimmer lights.

Ta, RW1! I suspected that might be the case.

What don't I like about my Scirocco (it does pain me to criticise my motor):

1) The look of the ride height. It's set too high and makes the low profile wheels look a tad insubstantial. I've checked out many rival cars such as Audi and BWM coupes [for example] and they ride much lower - thus the wheels fill out the arches much better. VW should have looked at this.

2) No map pockets behind the seats. I bit penny pinching if you ask me.

3) The drivers sports seat design digs into my left leg and can leave it feeling numb. I'm not a big guy but the seats are a bit too narrow for complete comfort.

4) Dipped main beam doesn't project as well as other cars I've had. Not bright enough - even though I changed the bulbs to Philips X-Treme! I wonder if a Xenon set up would have been better (cost a bit to find out though wouldn't it).

5) The touch screen radio is a bit fiddly (read dangerous) to use whilst driving. It's a tad slow to respond too. VW should have made more functions available via the steering wheels control keys (such as a back to home function whilst navigating a USB stick or iPod for example).

6) Fuel consumption. Way, way down on what VW says (44.8 AVG MPG). I'm actually getting about 34.8 AVG MPG which is a long way short of claimed figures. Not happy about that. My last car (a VW Golf 2.0 GT TDI) did 50 AVG MPG and that's exactly what VW claimed. So, this Scirocco is way below what VW claim. Quite disappointing.

That's about it. Not much to gripe about really.

Luckily I haven't suffered with poor A/C or Climate Control problems (as many people have here). Mine is first rate - the best I've ever had. It just goes to show the variety between cars.

Yeah funny how some should mention about how long in takes the climate control system to heat up....it takes AGES compared to my previous car (Focus) I thought it was just me. Cheers for the reply Mordred1973....I'll try that with the mirrors.....ohh and i found that my electrick folding mirrors can be quite tempremental too sometimes and I DON'T fold them now when it looks like it's going to freeze over......had to wait a while till they "thawed" out a bit!!

the way you can lose things down the leather seats

I'm not that happy with the RCD510, the Media-In issue is a pain, and the navigation is slow and cumbersome, sometimes dangerous if you're driving. Also a bit disappointed that you can't navigate through folders using the steering wheel controls like you can in the Audis. I'm getting tempted to replace the screen with an Alpine number.

Snap! Im almost at work by the time its heated up after 15 minutes........my hands and feet are f&cking freezing in this weather!

Hmm I thought the Roc heated up very quickly! Say in around 5 mins of driving. I've only owned Vauxhalls before so the Roc seems to heat up like a dream!

Many moons ago I had a Rover 200 that had a green light around the ignition key insert, that might have been nice on the Roc,I find it's not so easy to see at night
but really, I don't find anything to gripe about so far, it's a beautiful car, I made the right choice

Here are some things:

-The wheel arches are too big, which makes the car look like it's riding higher than it actually is. Also, no amount of lowering will help with the gap that is left on both sides of the tyres.
-The things that are supposed to "pop" the lid open freeze up and break during winter (had to replace the pair last winter once and now one of them is broken again).
-The manual box is notchy (I've been told this is a feature, not a fault).
-Windows freeze shut easily during winter, which causes all sorts of little annoyances.
-Electrical systems aren't foolproof (sometimes it takes a second for the door mirrors to fold back to normal position, sometimes ten; sometimes the parking sensor doesn't show the increase in distance to whatever is behind the car etc.)
-Tyre noise.
-The engine gets really thirsty during winter and warms up slowly, partly due to lack of OEM grill cover. Now that I've bought an aftermarket grill cover, the situation has improved.
-The mirror adjustment knob, which I have to use every time I want to heat the mirrors or fold them, is poorly placed.
-There should be separate switches for turning the rear fog light on and for using the headlight washers.
-Even though I've set only the driver's door (and window) to open with the first press of the unlock button (pressing it twice opens both doors and windows), the passanger's side window still drops down when I turn off the car. Not ideal if the window happens to still be frozen shut and otherwise just plain annoying.

Mirror adjustment/folding/heating control is poor
No memory function on electric seats/mirrors

I find it weird that you don't seem to have it in the UK. It's been an option for a while already at least in Finland (and naturally also in Germany).
