wooo hoo! mine should be here next week! damn i'm excited. ordered the retro fit bits of stowage compartment with cover / cup holder with cover too today. Should be here tomorrow. Then I'm taking it to a mates for him to fit it (he likes ICE installs so will be much more adept at taking the centre console apart)

ah yes another thing....has anyone on here replaced the manual bonnet stand/strut with a gas strut? I think the attachment points are there, VW just find it amusing to p'off the Roc owners by using the cheaper solution!

You were wrong about that!
I'm in the same boat as you... BW18 for a Golf R I ordered on 1 Nov 2009.

Not seen anything yet, someone was going to do something, but abandoned buying his Scirocco before getting it sorted as a "how to".
Have looked at the Eos strut as the Scirocco has the base mounting point (as do Golfs) in the engine bay. But there is no corresponding bonnet mounting point without drilling and tapping. In any case, it looks as though going this route would mean cutting away the cowling by the off-side headlight, near the radiator to fit this particular strut. So I concluded the standard VW strut wasn't possible easily.

I had mine fitted at the dealer (by themselves or by 3rd party i don't know)
cost slightly more than an approved nationwide installer i found but as it was a dealer fit option i just went with it to save hassle!

Hi Folks,
I've not posted for a good while, because I've had no news whatsoever until a couple of days ago.
My dealer has recently emailed me and told me that my Roc R is frozen for production on the week commencing Monday 22nd March (Wk12), and he anticipates the car being with him around the week commencing Monday 5th April.
I've emailed him back to query his dates as I just can't see the car arriving so quickly?
I travel back to my work on Tuesday 13th April for a full month, so I reckon there's a fair possibility that I'll just miss its arrival, and it will have to sit in the showroom until I get home in mid May.
If that does end up happening, I'll just ask him to send me 100's of pictures by email
Regards To All

Mine was BW3 and came over start of 2nd week in feb. So maybe he's being bit optimistic but not impossible. If a ship is available with space then no reason why yours can't be on
it as soon as it's made!

it sounds like hes privvy to anticipated shipping schedules, have faith it can happen if it hits the ship schedules right, mine was a week from build complete to dealers forecourt last oct. even my dealer was astounded!
