Re: Marius Rocco
Marius, would you be able to make a detailed guide on the installation of the discover media unit? Ive been searching for about 2 hours, and can't find much. I've just bought a unit with CP activated as it seemed better value (big mistake) so i understand that I cannot patch it, and have to get VW to remove CP, but in the process they deactivate all the features. So, the only route I can see is to:
1. Replace the old Can gateway to one with access to 5F (7N0 907 530 AM/AN/AH/AK/AL/AJ/AG)
2. Install the headunit,
3. Go to VW dealership and ask them to remove CP.
If you could either correct me, or list some steps, then that would be great.

Looking great! Is that a custom steering wheel control module or canbus interface?

Re: Marius Rocco
the modul is from spacewalker
it translate the Steering wheel button data in the old stalk data, so the ECU can understand it.

Re: Marius Rocco
dont work with 1k0 steering wheel modul.
my car alrady have 5k0 steering wheel module, so the new E steering whell works without moule.
The module is onle for the Cruise Controll buttons.

And is it this part you're talking about when saying 5k0 and not 1k0?

Re: Marius Rocco
Scirocco under 2010 have 1k0 Clockspring. Scirocco Over 2010 have 5K0 953 569 Clockspring.
if you want tu use a new steering wheel on 1k0 Clockspring, you need:
1K0-959-653-C and 1K0-959-653-D
and you need new Steering controll module:
1K0-953-549-CD/CH/CK
With this setup, the MK6 Steering wheel and the Scirocco Facelift wheel will work.
there is only the Problem with the Scirocco Facelift steering wheel, that the light dont work. Maybee google will help for that, Google: MK5 MK7 steering wheel lighting. You have to solder a smal bride so the light will work.
5k0 Clockspring everything works plug and play. But the conversion from 1k0 to 5k0 is hard.

Right?
Lets say i want to upgrade my cluster to a facelift version further down the line - would the multifunction buttons still work with that display?

Oh okay, and i guess with 1K0-953-549-CD/CH/CK It wont matter if it ends in CD, CH or CK?
