That's not really related to the car breaking though.
It sounds like you may need to see a GP if you are feeling depressed. (I suffer).

Fishbones wrote:Update: I now have my car back. Steering rack, column & air bag slip ring all replaced. VW tech guy couldn't replicate the problem and the investigation is ongoing - still a total mystery. It would seem to be a one off fault and not affect any other of the batch that mine was part of (but don't quote me on that). I expect to hear from VW with their full assessment once they reach it. Dealer has offered a few things even though it's not their fault which was nice. Still to decide what to accept and will wait to see what VW come back with. More to follow?
Cars fixed then.
Drama over.
Take your freebies and move on I think.
When you hear what went wrong, post up.

Will see what's offered.
What have you been offered so far? You mention the dealer has offered you some stuff...

Fishbones wrote:Went to the Dealer again today to see if there was any word from VW - there wasn't. The "faulty" parts are now back at the factory and that's it. Told the garage I expect VW to "do the right thing" and at the extreme very least come back to me with a report about what went wrong. To be continued....
What do you actually want from them?
The car's fixed. Move on.

That's what I'm struggling to work out too. It's not much different to a normal warranty claim. There was no damage, nobody died. It's fixed. I can't see them giving up much more than maybe offering you a service for half price, if that.
