Have you made up your mind on BCS? PeterG has just had a brilliant custom exhaust made at EMP and is probably the best sounding R i've heard
Hi Phil
Yes I have made up my mind based partly on sound but mainly on performance. I like the fact when the vehicle is operating off boost, gasses are circulating through a high pressure part of the silencer, maintaining low down torque and reducing turbo lag.
I decided to go for the Powervalve Sports system with a performance 200 cell cat. They are using a wide bore type cat to make it less restrictive but still being able to meet the emissions test (just). They do a Powervalve Prestige system and the difference being it has a 6 inch wide cat instead of a
the 5 inch wide cat in the Sports system. The 6 inch wide cat is better on emissions but costs more and not as loud when the valve is fully open.
I also went for the flexi joint on the downpipe and heat wrap which is done with the motorsport grade material and clamps. It won't make any difference at the moment but it's to future proof keeping my under bonnet temps low when I have completed the engine mods. With high boost applications keeping the heat inside the exhaust also has the added affect of speeding up exhaust gases.
Any idea what is the best way to record the sound for a Youtube post?

I tried a triple suction cup mount on my rear window with my compact slr camera attached and all I got was really bad distortion after third (with similar BCS system)....back to the drawing board to get full effect!

Just spoke to BCS and my new exhaust will be here in just over a week.
After discussions I have found out there is a hybrid centre box option, where it is 400mm in length as opposed to 600mm. The only thing they said is by going down in size there is no guarantee that it will have no drone as the one they recommend has the 600mm one..
At least if I get this and it drones too much I could always have the larger centre box fitted. Once fitted I will post the results so everyone knows if this option is worth doing or not.

BCS have had a few delays due to bends not arriving but at last it should be getting delivered to Regal today. I'm dropping my car down first thing in the hope it arrives in time to fit it, or its back in tomorrow. I could just wait till tomorrow but you know what it's like when you have a new toy.
At least it will be fitted for the Gti meeting.

Thanks Daniboy I will let you have first refusal lol.
I have the BCS system fitted and pleased with it.
I have asked Regal for a quote on fitting the complete 2.5 4wd drivetrain from the TTRS. If it's in my budget that's the way I will go with a stage 3 APR kit. Sounds mad I know, especially on a new car where I will end up removing the new engine, box, ecu, wiring etc.

I bust my camera and phone takes pretty rubbish photos. I have a couple of cameras I can use from work and an iPad mini 3 coming on Monday. On Saturday I will bring them all to the meeting and hopefully get some advice from Mark.

Whilst at the GTi International show the excitement of seeing all your cars made me decide to get some more mods done.
A quick trip to the APR stand To get 30% discount on a Stage 2 map and a VWR air intake. All fitted and running nice with the BCR exhaust.

300whp with stage 2.5.
So 370 is fantasy numbers.
Would guess around 330hp.
