I believe the success of the facelift will depend on pricing as the facelift will share many engines with the 2015 Audi TT. If the facelift is priced well below the equivalent TT it could be good value.

Dealer had no idea there was a new version coming out until I informed him about it.
I would be surprised if they did not have an inkling that there was a new face lifted model pending. It may be possible to cancel if there is no build date allocated. That is very annoying when that happens, one I first took delivery of mine (5 years ago), they announced the updated dash/steering wheel almost within days.

Ordering any VW at this time of year is always a risk as the model updates tend to take place when the new model year starts in production, around week 23.

if no build dated is allocated you will be able to cancel the order and transfer the deposit to get an early slot on the facelift model.

Tried to place an order for old spec R today and apparently VWSA closed all open orders for the Scirocco. They also halted all current orders that were to be built and postponed them to be built after the facelift goes into production. I don't usually trust Dealerships as they're mostly clueless but two different Dealerships corroborated the story after trying to place an order for the spec I wanted.

This means no Recaro's as theres no cars available in the country with them and the cars that are arriving on the 2nd of March arent spec'd with them either... and I cant place an order for one, so I'm basically screwed :grumpy:

Now I have to settle for someone elses spec or the facelift thats suffering from an identity crisis... well, at least its not a difficult decision... original R ftw! :yummy:

As others have confirmed, you can cancel it no problem as the car has not been delivered (ie they have not carried out their side of the contract).

Do not under any circumstances allow them to retain your deposit as thats not aceptable no matter what they say (plenty of info on forums about this).

Nobody knows yet, car not released. We wont know until September, although no doubt there will be various road test reports on it in the interim.

However, that instrument cluster still puts me off big time.

Yes - they have just stepped over the edge with that little instrument binnacle, puts me off as well.

Same here. Whoever designed these, must have been drunk.

That engine looks identical to the prefacelift which explains the same co2 emissions.Maybe it's a lightly remapped version of the old one.

The old one was a belt driven EA113 whereas the new one is a chain driven EA888.

The new Golf r has a completely diferent engine bay compared to the 6r so if the new scirocco r has the same engine then it should look similar.
