Hey Tom.
Where did you get your air ride from? as well did you get someone to install it for you?
thinking about the upgrade and hunting around for places and kits.

Hey man,
It was supplied and fitted by CarAudioSecurity based in a London. They did an amazing job - I'd highly recommend.
Meanwhile, more interior progress...
Smoked hazard switch fitted:
Relocated my
12v socket after losing functionality when fitting my custom controller mount. (Didn't realise just how much I used it until it was gone!):
Plenty more interior bits to come over the next few weeks. Show season is fast approaching (and my bank balance is quickly depreciating)...

Ignore the missing trims...
More to follow soon.

Small progress is being made! I went to a local meet up at the weekend - the car was filthy after a 6hour round trip to Birmingham and back, but it still got lots of attention!
Here are a couple of pics:
Some progress is also being made with my custom carbon interior trims! They are starting to take shape, here they are currently:
Can't wait to get them finished and on the car!

The little touches are sweet
Are they skinned parts or full carbon? I had the same parts on my old GTI

Have to say you've done a better job than people I have worked with. And they do it for a living! Nice straight weave.

Thank you guys! Admittedly, I can't take any credit for the carbon. I was approached by an old friend who is setting up his own business and offered to sponsor the Rocco/work on it for next to nothing (basically cost of materials).
If you want a quote, send Total Custom UK a message on Facebook!
On another note, these arrived fresh from the USA today - I'll be fitting them hopefully at the weekend

Thankyou!! I want to head over to some more European shows this year - maybe MIVW again so hopefully catch you there!
Centre caps are on - initially I didn't like them, but admittedly they are growing on me...
Carbon interior is almost done too, hoping to get the trims back in the car early next week. Super excited!
Facelift front end is also being fitted on the 25th Feb, alongside a full front end respray. The car is getting there...

Hi Tom,
Just a question regarding your wheels / air ride if that's okay
I've got airlift bags ready to fit to the Rocco, but just upon looking I'm sure ill need to run spacers to stop the front wheels catching the air lift struts, just wondering what width and ET your fronts are along with what size spacers your running (if any). Just they seem to tuck perfect!
Thanks

Massive help thanks mate! I'm nearly sure mine are et35 so mine would stick out 10mm more than yours (without spacers) so should clear the strut
I've got to thank you for the idea of relocating the 12v socket too, I've got a similar thing made up to fit my V2 controller in and I was thinking of a place to relocate this too so big help there too!

Hello Tom, Im fairly new to this site and I have been watching your build in progress and loving every part of it.
Im currently undergoing a facelift of a MY13 model and I have a few bits I think you may be interested, i can't send pm's maybe because im still too new, I will happily send you pics or a description of the parts I have available once you or someone else give me the all clear as I don't want to violate any rules.
Thanks.

Super subtle mods are always my favourite, it's always in the detail that counts. After seeing
easyrider's window switches when he helped me fit my doorcard puddle lights a few weeks ago, I had to order some for myself.
They are from the facelift model, super easy to fit and look so much better - they really tie in well with the other silver touches (door handles, air vents, steering wheel trim etc)... here they are:
During fitting, doorcard off:
Fitted and illuminated. Much better:

So, this evening consisted of an unexpected eBay auction bid and winning a full facelift rear end - bootlid, tail lights, bumper and all other bits to go with it! Not to mention the beyond steal of a price I got it for...
Rear end pic courtesy of
jimijokela'a stunning example:
It's all painted and ready to go too, hopefully it will be here next week which means next weekend is going to be a busy one... i am so stoked!!!
I've also ordered a couple more interior bits which will hopefully be here soon too!!
