having checked the motability site today, i see that the scirocco is no longer available to the under 25s, i take it that this is all part of the crack down on younger drivers, a case of a few spoiling it for the genuine under 25 disabilty driver. how sad.
i wonder if the older motability driver will be next, with the slow reaction time chestnut comeing up.
i really enjoy having a scirocco, it really is a car of many colours, and makes a great car for some motability needs. once in the driving seat the open road calls.

Yep, thank the Daily Mail and their hack Richard Littlejohn for that. Apparently you get FREE cars- and fancy ones at that!

''Young drivers

As of 1 January 2012:
Drivers under the age of 25 can only drive cars in the lower ABI insurance groups of one to 16 and with a brake horsepower rating of 115BHP or less.''

I'm so glad I ordered mine before this :hyper: ! Would've been kicking my self If this was put in place sooner.

yes :grumpy: that paper should have looked deeper than the con artist type that do, as in any walk of life turn up to milk the system be it benefits or paper clips
but for the genuine they are not free, and come with one extra big cost not many would choose to bear "disability ". i must admit that the scirocco could be classed as fancy, but as all car makers need a good supply of s/h cars for spares sales which they make the money on, they use motability to be a traveling car store, with massive discounts given to motability, it makes it possible to choose even a car such as a scirocco by paying a advance payment. in truth in 17 years on motability this is the first car we have put an advance payment down. as the no advance payment cars have now become no more than the city type shopping car which are very good for what they are built for but not in any way could that be long distance travel with the two of us disabled. :fall:
