Bad drivers are asexual (big word, stay with me here..). It's an intelligence thing, nothing to do with gender.
I know some brilliant women drivers who give me a severe run for my money at trackdays, beautiful car control, who don't see red mist when overtaken on the circuit. Most blokes can't handle that on a track or on the road. N.B. doesn't necessarily mean you.
In the main most women drivers are more careful than men, we men sometimes see that as overly cautious, slow or whatever. The worst driving I have seen has invariably been men, being downright dangerous rather than careless or unattentive.
Parking is a spatial awareness issue, men typically have better spatial awareness, but they still park like complete twunts at times.
And the point is....
There are a lot of good and bad drivers but mainly average ones. Me I'm mainly decidely average, until I get on the track when I'm mainly average, safe but average.
My 2p worth......

Recently I've only witnessed bad male drivers. Mostly on the motorway inside lane doing about 50 so that lorries (and I) had to overtake causing the other middle lane type drivers moving out of their comfort zone in the overtaking lane. I've been doing a lot of towing up and down the country before someone suggests that I tend to hang around in the inside lane
I personally feel comfortable in the passenger seat with women driving more than I am with men, as men appear to try and show off quite a bit when I'm with them.
Can't say I've ever suffered from the red mist on track though, only when some guy knowingly cuts me up. We'll see though as I've a 2 dayer coming up at Silverstone!

Thought I'd join in on this one!
My biggest hate at the moment are (usually) oldies who do a steady 50% of the prevailing speed limit. This is usually on a road where overtaking is virtually impossible. They do this for several miles until they are faced with traffic lights. The lights are green but it takes an age to get there. Just as they approach, the amber lights up, then the red. What do they do? CONTINUE ON!!! Still doing next to bugger all mph, straight over the red!
And you?
Sat at the lights quietly steaming from all available orifices
I always turn to an alternative route at this point because I couldn't trust myself to be calm when I caught them up.

Its at times like that when a forward facing missile launch system would be invaluable
Also people who slow down to 10 mph less than the speed limit when they come across a speed camera

Ohhhh yeah, this has to be mines too!!! Inconsiderate old f**ks....I live on a seaside resort and there is one road where they just toodle along at 15 / 20mph on a road that you can't overtake on....they REALLY REALLY get on my nerves. If you want to enjoy the scenery then park up you old tits and eat your ice cream while looking!!
I wish I had one of them "Creeper" vans out of the film Jeepers Creepers....I'd certainley help them pick up some speed.. Woman drivers don't bother me, inconsiderate old drivers who shouldnt be allowed to drive cars do. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. If i was a cop i'd do them all day long for inconsiderate driving!!! Sorry but really had to get that off me chest.
Rant over

Yes ASBOST, the only problems I've experienced have been from the grey end of the age range - one old boy nerfed our Beetle 1.8T by going through a narrow gap in his (wash my mouth out with soap and water) Micra. Obvious collision but he didn't stop. If the wife had not been 8 motnhs pregnant, she would have turned round and caught up with him to take his reg number.
The other one was when the Beetle got reversed into at a doctor's surgery car park and again, no-one owned up. Everyone else there was, shall we say, capable of drawing their pension.
Consequentially, until these two "no fault" claims fall off the end of our insurance, the premium for a 52 plate Beetle is nearly double that for my 'Roc. Unfair (waaah)!
Women drivers generally no problem at all. OK, there are some who could do with some extra instruction or refresher training, but I suspect that one or two of us ought to admit to the same......
Should we change this thread to "58 reasons to introduce compulsory driver testing every (insert your choice here) years" ?

Perhaps not so much women drivers but young women drivers around 18 - 25. I've seen so many examples of atrocious driving from that group.

I reckon all drivers should do this. The company I work for makes us company car drivers do driver assessments after we've been involved in any RTA. About four years ago I ended up in a five car pile up whilst stationary at temporary traffic lights (bloody useless uninsured teenage Corsa driver), and despite being the only one not hospitalised I had to undergo the three and a half hour assessment of my driving skills and risk awareness. It was much more intensive and scary that doing my driving test but I absolutely aced it. And despite being worried that my parking skills were less than marvellous (that twoc abandonment comment on another thread struck a chord) apparently I've nothing much to worry about.
Shame is I now I have to do one of these speed awareness courses after being caught speeding in Bristol the day before my 'roc arrived. Not happy.

Lol I do that. (Slow down 10mph less than Speed limit when I see the camera)
My biggest annoyance is people - and this isnt gender specifc - who INSIST on driving right close behind me. I tend to tap my brakes to get the lights on - a few times of that and then get the point

Well use the right lane. Nothing wrong with driving in the middle lane
The roundabout one is a classic and my other half indicates for the right turn off but she is going straight on!!!
drives me nuts but she insists she was taught that way
but with so many drivers doing this,it makes me wonder
Cyclists I think should be able to go through red lights with caution as more deaths happen with them if they don`t as for example a lorry driver turning left and they both move at the same time, chances are the lorry driver won`t see the cyclist, well that what usually happens.
Lorries overtaking each other and blocking up the flow of the motorway drives in nuts though
Drivers who come out of no where and blank there car right up to yours also drives me nuts. As if they did go into me it would be their fault but do I really want that to happen?
Lastly, well one I remember which annoys me is the drivers who think its ok to cut a corner/giveway junction.
I`ve had close calls approaching a giveway to find a twat nearly coming straight for me

This really angers me too, especially on dual carriageways.
A few more of my (non-gender related) motoring pet hates:
Horses on the road. They s**t everywhere and then look cross if you don't slow down enough when passing them. I'm sorry but when I come to power, the only way horses are going to be allowed on the road is if they pay road tax.
Cyclists. Weaving on and off the pavement/road as they feel like it, going through red lights and undertaking. They are not that visible so they need to at least act accordingly.
Disabled parkers. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for disabled spaces. It's the disabled drivers that park on double yellow lines that gets me. There is nearly always a good safety reason for a yellow line so why does being disabled allow you park dangerously?

Not so sure about these yellow lines
But in fairness, you are so very right about them in most cases.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Consult your Highway Code and think back to what you were taught as a learner.
The outside lane and the middle lane are for overtaking only. If you are not overtaking or about to overtake you should be driving in the inside lane.
So many times I've been driving in the inside lane and I come across some tosser (either too ignorant or too arrogant to move over) and I have to move out from the inside lane to the middle and then to the outside lane to legally get past them and move back in again.

No wonder they're on your bumper if you're going 10mph less than the speed target...........

Whilst I'm thinking about it....
M6 Toll has a high quota of morons especially early in the mornings or during the early hours of the night.
They must think that paying the toll allows them to sit in the middle lane doing a steady 68 (when there is naff all in lane one) with their main beam stuck on (probably because the contacts have welded together by now) blinding all overtakers and oncomers.
Makes me
