I've never quite got the BMW system... why have a big place you put a key in underneath a button you press to start the car? I like the Renault (not something i say often) system where you just have a card on your person and it locks and unlocks as you approach and also allows the car to start etc.... though it's a little unnerving walking away from the car and assuming it'll lock, so you go back to check, and it's open... but has it just opened as you approached it - aaaarrrrgggghhhhhh. A lot have a pressure switch on the door handle you have to press to open and close and a time delay such that after a while the car will re-lock anyway.
Slightly confusing title though as that is more about Keyless Go, rather then eco-driven BlueMotion Stop/Start that shuts the engine off when in traffic. Which i'm sadly, really excited about as it means a Scirocco is back on the company car list!!!
Start / Stop ... I hope its not like this :(

Oh, thank God I didn't opt for the Start/stop-button... That was not good - and isn't the whole idéa with this button to "brag"?
Not easy when it's hidden under the steering wheel!

The BMW system is based on short range wireless transmission whilst the Renault system is based on longer range wireless transmission. Short range systems are theoriticaly secure because it is harder to intercept the code exchange.Scott_mac wrote:I've never quite got the BMW system... why have a big place you put a key in underneath a button you press to start the car?
