Someone should link this thread to Martin Winkerkom (CEO) who I note has had his contract extended !!
For me mid August order and over four months later still none the wiser on a build date. I have a courtesy car from Europcar that VW are footing the bill for (since early Nov) - you'd have thought this would be motivation for them to push a little harder with the order and get me a Scirrocco. Mine is a lease direct with VW and at this rate its hardly going to be worth their while with the money they are spending on the courtesy car. The amazing thing is that to date I have paid nothing to VW for my order. Since they have failed to meet their contractural obligation its getting tempting to wait a month or so more and then hand the courtesy car back and cancel the order- at least I come out of this experience having had the use of a free car for three months..... problem is I want that car too much !

What are they playing at??
Check your order is not stuck in the system, mine was and the dealer had to create a second order ,it sounds like A3toscirocco's was as well, apparently there is a software issue with orders placed at the point the system was changed and when the dealers try and modify the order with the new blue motion engine the dealer told me that the new system will not allow them to modify the old order and had to raise a new order , also both of you guys should be okay to request support cars due to the original order date
Thanks for your reply, I got onto the dealer again and found out they had used up all their allocation and that is why it was taking so long. I decided to cancel the order in the end and convince my company to get me an EX-Demo car that I should be able to pick up on Wednesday. (fingers crossed) also it is a much higher spec than my original order, with Sunroof, Leather, 19" wheels, parking sensors etc.
I just cant wait to get it now.

Apparently VW have changed the rules on support vehicles, they will now only grant a support vehicle at 16 weeks from a confirmed build date (not date ordered was accepted by factory). Following a threat to cancel my order in October, I was promised (in writing) a support vehicle on 11 Jan 2011 (16 weeks) only to have the offer withdrawn just before christmas for the reasons above. It's an absolute farse, needless to say I have told them to stick the car where the sun don't shine and have cancelled my order ! !

FINALLY GIVEN A BUILD WEEK!!!
I ordered in September, accepted in October and have now been told it will be week 10, this can change to a week either side and means taking into consideration manufacture and shipping etc I will have it early April!!
I am in the process of chasing for a courtesy car which I will be due on 27th Jan (16 weeks form order accepted) so I will update this post once I have a firm confirmation.

Do any one know how long the waiting time is as we were advsied 8-12 weeks when order was placed?
Hello there. Know the feeling all too well. Ordered our car in early Oct and haven't even been given a build week yet.. Going to give Blade Gloucester a call today and find out what the problem is.. We were told on 29Dec that there was a delay with DSG boxes and it would be March rather than early Jan.. However.. It sounds like Blade may have run out of allocation and are kidding us a little bit.. Going to investigate!!

Well ,I am currenty on a build week 6 schedule , though it is not confirmed yet but I don't expect it to slip much , dealer tells me that VW are supplying them quite quickly after the build week and thinks it might arrive at their dealership by end of feb , and I think they are so sick of it they will be glad to see the back of the car and ship it to me asap!
I have quite high hopes for the TDI 140 engine , it is the same engine in the support car I have ( a passat estate ) and that wants to go when you push the throttle to the floor , and bare in mind that it resembles an over weight adams family Hearse

Hi All.. been discussing my expected due date on the delivery room.. but will bring it over here.. Basically , ordered the car in Oct and we were told on 29th Dec that due to short supply of DSG boxes we will have to wait until march...
below is the latest info I have.. any help/advise gratefully appreciated..
(from Delivery room thread)... Update: Just spoken to Blade and the salesman assures me that the long delay is due to shortage of DSG boxes. Amazingly he CANNOT give me a build date yet.. Considering that Blade have had this order since October I'm very surprised.
So.. I would be keen to know if anyone has background info on how long after a car is ordered with a dealer do you usually get a (confirmed?) build date etc.. and am I being told a few fibs by the dealer here?
Any help/advise greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Argghhhhhhhhh!
Deep breath & try to keep calm....
After sleeping well over the last month or so since being told I'd be getting a VW support car sometime during January got a call from the dealer today...apparently VW have changed policy on support cars and they wouldn't be giving me one any more! To help me out the dealer offered me a car almost identical to the one ordered...identical if you factor in it didn't have the Bluetooth or cruise control I ordered! If I wanted it it's being built at the moment I could have it early Feb...so far so good...it's only a 2yr lease could I make do? Then he dropped the bombshell...it was going to cost me about £30pcm more despite the missing options because my original order was placed on last years Q3 rates...if I wanted this car I'd have to pay this years price!
Thinking this must have been a joke he then confirmed still no build date on my order not likely to see it before April and again confirmed no support car! Felt like I was being held to ransom have this car pay the extra or get the bus! advised to call VW and ask them to discount (it's a retail order) the car so they could sell to me at the previous rate cos they'd listen to a customer!
Called VW who told me the SLI number provided would never be ordered cos it's against the obsolete engine, that the dealer should contact sales support and that yes they have changed the support car process but they are still being issued and not as the dealer told me based on VW discounting cars to the dealerships that they then expected to sell on once the proper car is delivered. Then told '...we don't sell cars...' the order contract is with the dealer!
I'm fast losing the will to live...what makes it worse despite the problems, the support car offer restored some faith in the system so my other 1/2 ordered a Tiguan...mentioned this and the fact I was throwing best part of £50k in their direction and I may as well not have bothered!
Looks like i'll see the process thru...what else can I do but getting to the point that we'll never touch VW again...
I pray someone from VW monitors these forums!

Mine was ordered (1.4 160 manual) in August, and arrived at the dealers/lease company on November the 4th. I finally get delivery of it a week today . . .
Is it just DSGs that were/are taking donkeys years?

spaz wrote:Ordered ours 31 Sep. Just heard we've got build week 4. Hopefully delivery March? Looking at other posts have my doubts if this will be the case but VW Ipswich been really good so far. Guess they can only tell me what they are being told. No one can help the weather and shipping delays. If it slips back, it's not the end of the world. Got a good trade in the longer we wait the better the deal becomes.
Wolsey been 'really good so far' I'm amazed! We bought our current car MK6 GTI from them in 07/09....What a shambles is all I can say. Scirocco ordered from Colchester, who, at the moment seem to be doing a much better job.
