Awful fit so I cannibalised the holder, rewired and soldered the bulb in place - and they are bright. Even on 20% in the mfd these are on the verge of distracting whilst driving. Weird seeing your feet all blue. Really stand out when the doors are open though and the colour is a perfect match to the blue dials. Plan is to either a) cover an area of the lens to stop light spill/tone them down or b) ditch them in favour of the option 2 blue leds that arrive in a couple of weeks.

Couple of weeks later, and these are what I settled on - 6smd blue leds, with a wrap of window tint film to kill the brightness:

give vw a shout, it's the cup spoiler. you can buy the kit from them and do painting/fitting yourself. aftermarket one's generally don't fit very well and really should be avoided imho.

What springs/spacers do you have on here?

vwr springs and spacers depend on wheels:

talladegas i use 12mm spacers
savannahs no spacers (wider wheel)

h&r springs drop a bit more at the back and look good with 12 or 15mm spacers and talladegas.

tried to change my cam follower and failed miserably so had to get help from Andy who sorted it on his day off - top chap and thank you. the wear on it wasn't too bad (pic below) but still glad i did it considering vw don't have it on their service/repair schedule and if it goes it's metal in the big end.

and tried something different that i shouldn't... went for the m.o.t and put some h&r springs on. hated them instantly - way too crashy for me. so back to the vwrs less than five days later. if it aint broke don't fix it i guess. did sit well though.
