Just read through this. Not sure if you know I'd imagine you probably do but vw have updated the timing chain for this engine I've fitted it to my own car. With all the extra power well worth buying that too.

Not sure as I got it in a rebuild kit with all gaskets, uprated ARP bolts etc. You should be able to get a price pretty easy online or from the dealer/TPS :)

Alright mate hows the car going? Have you got any info or pictures of all your turbo and manifold bits and bobs etc. I am very interested in an upgrade in the future but am wondering if anything other than k04 (Garrett 2867R?) can be used on the 2.0tsi without blowing the engine.
Cheers! :D

Nothing, the car has not been touched since my last update :shake:

You would need to do internal work for any form of garrett really, let alone the fact I cannot find a single person who will map the car with a garrett :fall:

Gazza, if you are still looking for somebody to custom remap your car give Rick at Unicorn Motorsports development a buzz. Just sold on an Audi S3 stage 2+ with a Revo generic map. They state 350-370ps as the expected bhp output, it was putting out 323 at the wheels. Rick reckoned he could extract 350 with his own map. His RR is calibrated and gives real world, not optimistic figures.

He is based in Stockport, Manchester.

One thing you forgot regarding the awesome look of your R converted machine is to paint the mirror caps glossy black like all the R's ;)
Amazing project...one of the biggest I've seen!!! Muchos respect!

How difficult is it to code the white MFD cluster to my 2008 2.0 TSI (of course using the cable adapter)?

Regarding the clocks, I paid someone to do it as you have to use vagcom, and another tool to code new keys. Paid £180 I think to have it done, can pass you his number if you need.
