Surely you could have got the car moved as it's blocking a dropped pavement?

Errr I would have done if I knew which house it belonged to!

Not seen it before, and houses we've knocked on don't know either. Reckon it's the house opposite and they've gone out in another car.

Stupid idiots whoever it is. :grumpy:

Final trip to my local National tyre depot for some new boots under the SMT plan.

Image

Good bunch of lads there now after the not so good first visit. But have no probs going back there for future business, even if I will have to pay for them myself.

Even they agreed I should maybe look at using spare set of wheels and tyres. :D

Car serviced - although wasn't amused they somehow booked me the chungster under a different name and car!!!!!

WTF!

Then headed to find AKS Tuning in Oakley and have a nice chat with Alex. Will be going there to have the bits put on. But before then gonna attempt to swap the Twintake canisters round myself :D

Decided to take the Twintake induction kit off today for a bit of a check as its been on the car for 20k miles now. I was also curious to know if they were fitted with the correct airflow orientation.

Taking them off was surprisingly easy even for complete DIY muppet like myself.

Image

The kit is basically an open cone air induction kit but with a carbon canister housing enclosure.

So the airflow should be like this.

Image

You can clearly see the cone filter inside the housing and how the air goes in from outside the cone filter and clean air then goes from inside the filter to the turbo!

The inside of my filter was where the air has been going into first...and it looked like this.

Image

The outside of the filter (which have been the clean side on my car)

The side filter was surprisingly clean so don't think it does all that much filtering really.

Even though the filters have been fitted with the wrong conventional orientation it's still worked though.

I will however going to be ordering 2 new filters and fit them in the right airflow direction!

The R was sent to DMR couple of weeks ago for its first ever detailing session!

Nathan and Gareth did a fantastic job on it!

Didn't need much correcting at all and apparently my cleaning skills are ok! :D

And day of pick up :)

Image

However the Milltek Black Ceramic Tips aren't looking so good after 20k miles.

Image

But I have to say response from Charlie @ Milltek has been 1st class. Email sent Sunday night and today a replacement set arrived!

Will send the originals back for them to take a proper look at them.
