19 fair play sir, on the bright side at least yours will be a 11 plate and you won't have to keep clean over the coming winter months. do check out the wk45 production changes to see if anything extra pops up that you fancy may as well get it prefect.

Just an update - uncomfirmed BW48 now

wavodavo - I've updated the summary.

I would think that a few people should have gone from unconfirmed to confirmed recently (the BW44 people) and shortly there should be another spurt of confirmations for the BW48 posse. If not, I guess we've got another slippage on our hands.

I recently had the following exchange with my dealer. It's not particularly illuminating, but I thought I'd share:

Thank you for your detailed email. I have been made aware of some of the
issues Volkswagen currently have. I do think some of them are affecting lead
times.

1. The strikes are now believed to be over.
2. The Fire at the Teclac
factory certainly affected production up to now.
3. DSG has been an issue all year.

I will confirm on the colour MFD with you, but 99% sure I can amend and
change that for you. Unfortunately I still don't have a build week for you.

im now estimated 1st week of jan. apparently changing mfd puts you to the back of the queue.

Ordered mine Middle of August, dealer just told me provisional build week 13, might have to start looking for a used one.

Dealer rang this pm to say that my car has finally landed in Sheerness and may even be on the transporter that was due to leave at 11:30 this am!

May be at the dealership early next week!

I am in a state of shock! Will be a couple of weeks yet as we need to sort out a cherished transfer, so it will hit the 1 year milestone.. but WOOHOO! Am going in to sort paperwork and payment this weekend

Just called my dealer, what was a Week 42 build has now been pushed back to Week 2...!
No explanation as to why - they are trying to find out from VW and should hopefully let me know what's going on tomorrow.

Hi All,

I've got bored with waiting and since the order is now showing week 2 build and my dealer is crap at returning phone calls, I've decided to cancel the order.
On the plus side, I've found an ex-demo R with a bigger spec at a cheaper price with only 5000 miles on it!

Hopefully I'll be able to pick it up this week, will post some picks once I do.

Thanks to all for sharing your thoughts and info on here, it made the 7 months I've already waited a lot more bearable

Well up to 6 months wait. I obv know the score from the forum here so that wasn't a surprise, he's a good lad though and is going to do what he can to push it through sooner. a women ordered one from them and got it in 10 weeks.

i did get £2,200 off the price so couldn't complain on that front!

Bonus of waiting (if you can call it that), is that ill get a sizeable refund on my insurance which will be paused during my car-less wait.

haha yeh. got a car scheme at work and printed off a quote, said they need to match it or id have to buy it through work and they did! was surprised a little as i was expecting them to say they couldn't but they did, result!

So whose fault is this now........ Car arrived at Sheerness last Friday (22nd Oct) and it is now... STILL AT BLIMMIN SHEERNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHo decides which cars go on which transporters? Dealer was off all last week and couldn't believe it when he got back this am to find the car was still not there! He made several calls and they have said that car will be on transporter tomorrow so will be at dealers tomorrow afternoon (or maybe weds morning!) It is still at code 40 on the screen - just to show how rubbish the VW new system is.. code 40 is everything including boat, compound, transporter.

He has said that I should be collecting my car on Friday 12th November IF it arrives tomorrow as they can get the tax disc sorted (cherished transfer) in a week.

I am sooo pissed off! But its the final hurdle now hopefully! I did say to him tonight that I expect the transporter to crash or for my car to be damamged while loading/unloading or it arrive and it be the wrong spec or it to be a Friday Pm car so will have something wrong with it!!

Old news to cross-forum regulars, but businessmanager (a dealer with a helpful attitude to information distribution) on Scirocconet reported at the end of last month that Scirocco R's are now being produced after a long period of non-production and up to 20 demonstrators are expected in the UK dealership network.
