Finally after some gentle persuasion I was allowed to drive chungsters R on the 80 mile round trip to work yesterday :D
Certain patronising rules were laid down which of course I ignored :D

Certainly made me realise how much I miss mine  such a great fun car

The one thing I never really liked about my R was the brakes, never gave me much confidence for some reason, but his AP's really are the business.... Well worth the money IMO, especially for the track.

Still love the Miltek, the noise is awesome, Lee still sometimes thinks its too loud but I love it.

Hope he enjoyed his polo powered trip to work as much as mine.

Think it's got a bit louder now with the new dog bone mount fitted.

Don't knock the Polo (R) it's a good lil car :)

Was surprised you managed to increase the average mpg tho :D

It's good! Bedded in a lot better than the one in the GTI

Mount not really tested (wheel hop reduction) as bedding clutch in.

I actually think I need more boost and stage 2 rather than mounts :D

But mods program is suspended for now while another expensive project takes priority

cheers, just trying to get one ordered and need to be sure, i am also considering piano black cover and surround but i reckon that might be 5 button only ? so i will need to find the 5 button bottom
here you go.

the part numbers i posted earlier on this thread are for the 4 button version due to a bit of mis understanding.

i'm sure there is a 5 button bottom part for it (mk5 golf gti was 5 button wasn't it) so just get one of those! No idea what my 4 button version is from (mix and match numbers from arluts how-to thread) and a bit of help from the local TPS place (they liked my R a lot so was willing to help) :)
Hi Chungster

I am looking at doing this mod to my scirocco, I have one question, did you convert it from a 5 button to a 4 button or did you always have 4 buttons to begin with?

I changed from the standard 5 button to a 4 button version (as its a Jetta part number I have I think)

You can get a 5 button version for a mk5 golf gti but I don't have the part number for that

Back from a fantastic weekend of sunshine at the Ring with Jane. Did 8 laps, survived all the porks and race cars flying by us and having steak on a stone at the Pistenklause.

Some pics we've found so far.

Jane got a big grin from the passenger of a black Roc GT that I had to let thru as he was clearly more talented and braver than I was thru Hatzenbach :D

We saw him afterwards driving past Ring Werk complex and he flashed us  fair play dude!

Back to SRR for a health check on the R. Last dyno'd over a year ago and wanted to see what upping the timing on the Revo has done to the numbers.

Image

329.9 bhp and 340 lb/ft of torque. AFR is spot on. Well happy considering it's still Stage 1. :)

Couldn't beat this monster tho! 661 bhp through the rear wheels!

VXR8 Bathurst S Edition. 6.2 litres of LS2 V8 power with a Supercharger bolted to it!

It has more power than my R at only 3200 rpm! Takes the biscuit that does :D
