Re: My Scirocco Project
Oh right, no i meant did you get a set for all round...but if you upgrade the fronts to those can the rears be left standard and the car still brake effectively/controllably....because of stopping power difference??

Re: My Scirocco Project
Oh, I am not sure but 99% sure that the fronts would be way to powerful for the standard rears, would brake badly... But i just bought these for the rear:Psycho Kirky wrote:Oh right, no i meant did you get a set for all round...but if you upgrade the fronts to those can the rears be left standard and the car still brake effectively/controllably....because of stopping power difference??

So it will be 350mm front 6 pot brakes and 330mm rear 4 pot brakes

Haha i know the feeling I should of just bought an R lol. The way ive done it was just abit cheaper then buying an actual R and doing all these mods lol.Psycho Kirky wrote:Niiice, im currently waiting on BCS to call me with good news on their tailpipe delivery so i can pop over and get one fitted, then ill be getting an intercooler and hopefully going stage 2 possibly revo. for stage 2 you only need exhaust and intake so maybe look into intake instead of intercooler I am fitting an intercooler at a later date. I prefer the APR maps to REVO but its personal preference.
I have a polybush torque mount insert, hoping it improves the 2nd > 3rd gear change when driving spirited, I find it a little sloppy and apparetnly this mount is the reason, so cant wait to fit that!

I have a K&N Typhoon induction kit already, very nice, different to most people but an intercooler would be nice especially as some experienced mechanic mates have recommended one for the power increaseGazzagood wrote:Haha i know the feeling I should of just bought an R lol. Re: My Scirocco Project
So I am getting my remap tomorrow, going stage 2 (exhaust and induction) just fitted my VW R induction kit:
Because I had issues with the whiteline RARB order, awesome gti transferred my money over to my remap as a deposit. But I then spoke to them about a RARB and they have 1 scirocco VW Racing RARB in stock, so I have purchased that too, and I will collect it tomorrow when getting my map. Fit it Saturday.
Then on the way back from awesome I am stopping off in birmingham to pick up my brembo fitting kit:
And then off to luton to pickup some Ferodo DS2500 pads for them! For anyone who has never heard of these pads but are in to spirited driving I highly suggest you take a look!
Updates to come

Re: My Scirocco Project
An intercooler will not actually give you any power increase, however it will prevent heat soak which in return will sustain power during load. If you get heat soak you lose power.Psycho Kirky wrote:I have a K&N Typhoon induction kit already, very nice, different to most people but an intercooler would be nice especially as some experienced mechanic mates have recommended one for the power increaseGazzagood wrote:Haha i know the feeling I should of just bought an R lol. So you wont actually gain power, but you will get power improvements as you have colder intake, if that makes sense

Re: My Scirocco Project
Yeh intercooler is purely to keep my engine that bit cooler, not arsed about bhp from that. But ok i might just order a revo torque mount insert, not quite the full deal but for 30 odd quid its not bad!

Re: My Scirocco Project
Can you please post part numbers for facelift rear lights sockets (these new 8-pin) and their pins/repair wires (these yellow ones)?
I can't figure it out neither from ETKA nor from Google.
Thanks.
