For me,

LED DRL in a seperate location

Heated windscreens ( if ford fiestas can have them, surely others can)

Make the first 'notch' on the door wider. at the mo, the first is too small, the second is too wide.

colder a/c

better heater

inside the glovebox, have a mesh behind where the manual is. i have heard people dropping things into that space.

DO NOT MAKE A CABRIO VERSION

finally, keep the individuality of the car, and not making it looking like a coupe version of a Jetta.

I'm sure technologically, VW will move the game on, so won't say anything in relation to that.

Three things I'd change:
1) Do a bit more to make the interior feel special (more interesting features like the door grab handles won't go amiss)
2) Do something about the piece of mesh that pulls over the sunroof; a solid, electrically operated shade would be better for the soundproofing when it rains.
3) Improve the wing mirror design. While they look nice, the edge of the wingmirror obscures the last inch of the mirror surface.

My votes:

1. Ride height lower without wrecking the comfort levels or handling (not asking for much!)
2. Freezing windows fix
3. Bonnet strut perleaze!
4. Add a nice metallic maroon colour
5. FIX THE WASTE GATE RATTLE in the 2.0tsi!
6. Bigger DSG paddles
7. Increase capacity of armrest storage
8. Black badges as an option
9. Better brighter reversing lights
10. (probably impossible) ability to store a full size spare wheel without losing too much boot space, I said it was probably impossible ;)
11. More ergonomic method of cancelling cruise, like a steering wheel cancel/resume button

(1) less gap in the wheel arches. Way too much on current design - even 18-19" alloys don't fill the space!
(2) introduce a GT spec on the 160 TSI model
(3) fix freezing frameless window issue
(4) alter height of brake and accelerator peddles. There is too much height difference between the two at present.
(5) Map pockets behind front seats
(6) LED DRL's at front but separate from main unit (like R)
(7) rear light re-design (like golf GTD & GTI) across the range - not just for top models!
(8) new bespoke dash that's unique to scirocco
(9) sort out known rattle issues (tighten screws and panels boys)
(10) make rear head-rests fold flat when not in use. This will improve rear visibility.
(11) bigger paddles for DSG shift on steering wheel
(12) fix embarrassing squeak from waterpump/supercharger when accelerating through gears (especially when using kick-down)
(13) DO NOT make the scirocco any bigger.
(14) Make it lighter (and therefore quicker)

10. Optional painted brake calippers
11. "Meaner" looking exhaust, like golf mk6 gti lights (dual exhaust i guess?)
12. Better use of the 5 buttons below the center console, no more "ghost" buttons.
13. 4motion as an option (dont think this will happen, as this is part of the Golf R´s selling point)
14. Keep the Scirocco the same size as now.(3 votes)
15. Better graphics and detail in the MFD. (2 votes)(will be hard to implement, as the MFD is shared across many VW models)
16. "Better" Ipod integration
17. Loose the frameless windows (hmm, not sure they want to do that, but ill send it along)
18. Reduce size of the A and C pillars.
19. Improve rear view mirror distant visibility, improve wing mirror coverage
20. Reduce the weight of the doors.
21. Find an alternative rear headrest design that doesn't impair the rear view
22. Fit a bonnet strut as standard (3 votes)
23. Fit the LED DRL seperately to the headlights, like Scirocco R (3 votes)
24. Fit a heater to the engine, so that windows dosent freeze in the winter, when the engine is cold (2 votes)
25. Improve covered/hidden storage on the driver's side with more space.
26. Lower boot lid.
27. Reverse camera as standard.
28. Unique Dashboard, make the interior feel more special.(3 votes)
29. 200 bhp Diesel.

31. 2.0 TSI with 220+ bhp
32. More bright colors to choose from. (Focus ST and RS)
33. Heated windscreen, like Ford
34. Colder a/c
35. Keep the individuality of the car
36. Instead of mesh covering the sunroof, make a solid shade for better soundproofing.
37. Improve the wing mirror design. While they look nice, the edge of the wingmirror obscures the last inch of the mirror surface
38. Lower ride height.(2 votes)
39. Bigger DSG paddles.(2 votes)
40. Increase capacity of armrest storage
41. Black badges as an option
42. Better brighter reversing lights
43. Ability to store a full size spare wheel without losing too much boot space.
44. More ergonomic method of cancelling cruise, like a steering wheel cancel/resume button
45. alter height of brake and accelerator peddles. There is too much height difference between the two at present.
46. Make rear head-rests fold flat when not in use. This will improve rear visibility.
47. Make the Scirocco lighter, and therefore quicker.

Not applicable:

1. Option to de-badge the engine designation but not the 'Scirocco' model inscription (this is done by the dealer, not VW)
2. Deactivate ESP completely (already implemented on BW22 2011)
3. GT Spec and non GT spec is UK only, it is choosen by the dealer in UK and is not a VW choice
4. 160 tsi problems are not specific to the Scirocco, so the Scirocco team has no saying in this matter.

Keep the suggestions coming! :-)

You missed my No. 5, fix the waste gate rattle. This is the "gravel in a tin can" engine rattle at c.2,500 rpm which the 2.0tsi suffers from and is allegedly " a feature". It's a horrible "feature"!

I'd like LED DRL's in the sidelights position (restoring the now useless Auto Lights function).
Wheel arch gap reduced.
More storage in the cabin, map pockets on seat backs, bigger door pockets and armrest storage.
Keep the rear headrests and implement the same design on the front seats (if I wanted practical I'd have bought a Touran! ) and make leather standard on the GT and R.
Keep the Scirocco the same size.
Heated windscreen.
Get rid of touchscreen stereo, I find it distracting and dangerous to use while moving.
Improve the mirror adjustment controls, and include mirror heating with the rear demister function.
More ergonomic cruise control, to cancel it I have to brake or risk random indication signals.

some ideas
> an optional graduated sunstrip/tint built into windscreen (not the material used behind the mirror, but graduated tinted glass at top.)
> DSG - an additional settings button on consol for economy /normal to prevent early upshift (similar concept to the ACC settings button)
> full electric seat controls for passenger side too
> meaner rear diffuser on models eg R concept
> blue interior lights for R
> option for normal sunroof like the golf.
> sporty interior style option with alcantara door inserts/seats or part interior option / steering wheel / gaitor / some carbon fibre. eg as per some porsches and audi TTs.
> covered centre consol cubby holes, as per peoples modifications.
> more paint colour options.
> elasticated boot netting to hold things in place
> covered door side pockets
> Larger DSG paddles
> Fixed Postion DSG paddles, so can use when steering wheel rotated.
> Chrome / metal finish DSG paddles.

ps I like the A / C Pillars as they are, this adds to the coupe feel, so to expect some compromise. should imagine the Audi TT and megane have similar visibility issues.

Hey guys, heres the latest results.

I apoligize for not putting everything on the list, im trying - but it is really important that i can relay the information correctly to
the guys in Wolfsburg. So if your suggestion is not on the list, it is because I could not understand the suggestion. So please elaborate on it so
that I can relay the information correctly. Stuff like "cooler rims" is just not specific enough...sorry :-)

For starters...do NOT do anything like suggested here:
17. Loose the frameless windows (hmm, not sure they want to do that, but ill send it along)
that would defeat the purpose of it being a good looking Coupe.
50. Get rid of touchscreen stereo.
IMO they are both crazy ideas...but each to their own

Option of 'Iroc' style 19" rims, that would be the best thing
Leather interior option similar to Audi TT which part of the centre console is leather with stitching showing,
Top of the range model above the 'R' with lots of extras,
Brushed metal wing mirrors option...can't decide...
Colour coded door strips,
Heated front windscreen,
Only refine the current model, don't overdo it and change the look too much, as it's a good looking car,
Current - Audi S5 4.2 Quattro V8 See here...
Now Sold - VW Scirocco 2.0GT TSI, Rising Blue, VW Bodykit, H&R Springs, Panoramic Sunroof, Anthracite 'Vienna' Leather Interior, Scirocco R Pedals See here...

After yesterday's journey I thought of another one...

Windscreen wipers that clear the screen without streaks!

Great post!

First, some of the things already that are already listed that I’d like to add my vote to:

Ride height / wheel arch gap:
- #2 & #38

Rear view mirrors (interior):
- # 19

Wing mirrors exterior):
- # 51

Miscellaneous:
- #22, #33 & #52 (#52 should be standard, not just optional. I had this on a poverty-spec Vectra about 14 years ago!)

Interior design & trim:
- #4, #5, #25, #40, #59, #60

General:
- #14, #35 & #69

Second, some things I’d like to add to the list:
  • - Wider sun visors, that cover the full width of the windscreen and meet in the middle (or, a flap that flips down, behind the rear view mirror; had that in Audi A3)

    - Exterior mirrors that fold in more completely / that sit ‘flusher’ to the bodywork when folded

    - In addition to the manual folding setting, exterior mirrors should have an automatic folding setting (I always want mirrors to fold where I park; is a nuisance to have to manually close and open each time)

    - Optional elasticated storage nets on either side of the transmission tunnel (i.e. down beside lower leg)

    - Ability to switch between Radio / Media-In (iPod, etc) / CD player functions from steering wheel controls

    - Manual controls for headlight washers (rather than only an automatic, every 5th time the windscreen washers are used option)

    - Better designed door pockets (deeper and/or with a higher front lip, so that things don’t keep rolling out into the footwell, whenever I take a corner a little too fast)

    - Better grade plastics on the sunglasses holder and the driver’s side storage bin (on the dash, at knee level) (already covered by #25?)

Finally, some of the things already listed that (if possible??), I’d like to “vote down”:
  • 17. Loose the frameless windows (hmm, not sure they want to do that, but ill send it along)
    18. Reduce size of the A and C pillars.
    21. Find an alternative rear headrest design that doesn't impair the rear view
    26. Lower boot lid.
I like the fact that the design of the Scirocco means some compromise in terms of practicality and usability.
I like the fact that the Scirocco’s design statement is about being youthful and cool and that the car is as much about form as it is about function.
If I wanted more ease of use, I’d have bought a GTI, Focus or similar.
Things like the high bootlip make a subtle suggestion that the car is for people that don’t have to care about day-to-day practicalities & don’t have to worry about carrying their whole world around with them wherever they go.
A year and a half after taking delivery, people still stop to look and admire my car. Keep it like that!

Again, great post pafa and thanks for all the effort!
