Just fitted the Skoda Yeti ones to my 140 TDi, block of wood, no cutting, great job,£25 from local Skoda Dealer.Thanks for the tip guys !

guys I had a quick go at fitting the yeti tips yesterday but I couldnt seem to get them on easily? i have the 1.4 122psi scirocco. I had a little go with a rubber mallet but was anxious at hammering the exhaust and damaging it?
any advice?

does the skoda yeti crome tip fit straight over normal 1.4 tsi 160bhp scirocco or does it need to be spot welded ?

no weld needed the internal clips are really tight when lined up and fully knocked on be sure to line them up at the angle that the pipes are cut they are not slash cut from top but follow the curve of the rear valance.
they do take a bit of banging to get the tip fully on hence the wooden block and club hammer approach.
took me a few attemps to get them right, as i lined them up wrong to start with and had to tap back off and work it round till i got one right then the second was just easy,and the saving was well worth the time it took. about 1/2 hr in my case.

Hello,I have priced a set of chrome exhaust trims for my 1.4 twin charger from vw which are £110 I have been told that the skoda yeti 1.4 tsi exhaust trims are the same as anybody fitted these trims. Thanks

Ive had the same problem as Hughsey88 as ive got the Yeti ones but dont want to cut my actual pipes. Is there a technique as i cant get the bottom clip lined up and cliped arond the actual pipes whatever i seem to do.

hi i hope you have now got them fitted. but if not and you have pulled the tailpipe off, you may have bent the clip back makeing it difficult to line all clips, so it would need to be set back down, as for a technique i would say you twist them on with a rocking motion till all clips are just on the pipe and lined up to the pipe as you will find it difficult to make any adjustment once you start banging them on useing the wood block and a heavy hammer. when they are nearly on you may have to give a side ways tap,to the end only, to line them up to go into the curved over ends for a really finished job . dont worry to much about the exhaust its strong enough to take a knock. i hope!!! and please dont cut the pipes as stated further back in the posts its a void

Well, finally got round to trying again and got the Yeti tips on.

Hi Simon99 and anyone else that might be able to help. Just got the these yeti tips today and i too am struggling to get them onto my 2012 2.0 blue motion GT. The clips inside the tips are lined up to fit onto a flat exhaust end but obviously the existing exhaust ends are slashed(angled)! Not sure how you've got round that without cutting your exhaust. To get that bottom clip lined up to the bottom of the exhaust(as in picture), have you just had to hammer the top clip over and beyond the top end? So in essense, have you had to bend the top clip flat? Hope that makes sense.

Mine is the same model as yours. Because the original exhaust is slanted the top clip and side clips went over the existing pipes easily because there is excess room but i had a little trouble when trying to get the bottom one over as well as the other 3 but found that the technique used by buster worked. Just rock the start of the clip over, dont use hammer at this point. It takes a little working on but will get there. Once the clip part is on the pipe cover is quite firm

Once that is over i used the hammer and block of wood technique and just hammered them over. This bit is quite easy.

The final thing i would say is that the way the end of the bottom clip went on (the bit you can just see on the left hand pipe) was slightly different between the pipes. The right one was slightly flattened under the pipe the left stopped at the clip (probably me hammering too much or too little). And i think the top clip was bent flat when i hammered it on past that point. I put the pipes on to the point that the top of the original pipe reached the end of the new one. This was about the point that the end of the bottom clip reached the original pipe which you can see in the pic.

Just fitted these exhaust tips to my car and used a slightly different technique so thought I'd share it for anyone looking to do the same.

Ordered Friday lunchtime, delivered Saturday morning!

So what you need:


I found it really hard getting the tips on so I gently squeezed the clips with a pair of pliers to make the bumps slightly smaller. But obviously not so much as to negate their holding force. I did it to all four clips to keep the fit centralised on the pipe.





This made is so much easier to fit them on!

Then just gently hammer them on with a piece of wood as other people have done.

Not bad for £27 and about 5 mins work!

Got these on ebay. £25 delivered . I think they look pretty good.

Bought some from Hong Kong these are Stainless steel not mild steel with chrome plating, arrived within a week and look superb.
