Anyone confirm overall height with VW bars and largest Thule

Hi just found this. I've just purchased some VW bars second hand but they didn't come with instructions. By the pictures it looks like the fitting with the slot for the pin is at the front. On the bars I have it's the rear bar with the larger fitting and pin slot. Can anyone clear this up? Would anyone know of any online instructions?
