Having owned both the 200 ps and 210 ps models of the Scirocco the latter version is definately an improvement in terms of performance and engine note...

Does it really matter, in gear acceleration is more relevant.

It'll beat a 1.8 TFSI 160 PS TT, but when you have 50 PS more, what would you expect? A 2.0 TFSI with 211 PS TT will be quicker than your Scirocco.

Not "could be", but "it is". If the driver had managed to use all possible power to generate forward motion instead of burning rubber, there would not have been any contest.

Never a truer word spoken.

Stock , My own experiment in a flat road 0-230 , I measured 0-100 with launch control it was around 6.3-6.4
can't give exact number cause i am depending on the digital number in the MFD

Do you know what the instrument error is on the car? My Scirocco is analogue/digital readings are 10% high. So when I have indicated 70 mph (112kph), the car is actually travelling at 63mph (101 kph).

Also, tyre diameter has impact. Between manufacturers there quite a difference as the dimensions are loosely what it states on the tyre wall. That can vary the indicated speed as much as 10%.

The only way is to do what Deacon has done. Use a measured distance with independant timing equipment. Or use GPS I suppose.

I managed 6.1 in my 210 bhp dsg model, :vibes:
this was 0-60 mph not 0-62
I made 3 attempts with the car in manual mode letting the car upchange on its own, which all gave very similar results, I also made 1 attempt using launch control which was a total wash out so I called it a day.

This was properly timed and didn't rely on someone with a stopwatch or watching the speedo, and was also done on a relatively flat surface in dry conditions so should be considered accurate,
also I am by no means an expert when it comes to launching a car so should be easy to achieve.

hth :)

On my car the error is about 6%, so when the digital reading is 106 kph, I'm going 100 kph. The error of the analogue instrument is slightly higher, maybe 7-8% in total. This is on 205/50R17 tyres, and switching to larger sizes would of course make the error smaller.
