Yeah I dothat as well!
Unfortunately mine was on the end of a parking space near a corner (but still a good 20 feet away from it!) and somebody side swiped it and just drove off.

Definitely don't park next to a Scirocco. Some Scirocco driver will open his massive door onto the side of your car.

Why not get yourself a second beat up motor and do your town trips in that?

I always park up the far end of car parks away from everyone else. But with all that empty space you'll always come out of the shops to find someone in the space next to you. People seem incapable of parking without being next to something else for reference! One of the main reasons to park away from everyone else is that the doors are so huge you need a good bit of space just to get in and out

lol Same here. I then go around the car, fold the wing mirrors, before locking it up, walk for a bit and go back to double check.. lol It makes my missus seeeeriously annoyed, but it is worth it in my mind!
I try to park at the end bits where there is more space by the sides and probably a column or pole to avoid at least 1 other car on my side. Rule here is never at corners though. Then again, I once parked in a spot like that, end of the line, and still someone managed to hit the back corner of my car, probably when reversing.
It is funny when I park and the other driver is there too having a look at my car... I usually stay a bit longer almost unconsciouly just to make sure they do not do something stupid... and I think they notice it, lolol.

I have another theory of someone parking next to you in a carpark. For me, my logic is that you are potentially limiting someone else banging into your car, as the person is already parked, and therefore only have to leave the space. That is rather than parking with no-one either side and people coming along and going into and possibly out of the spaces either side of you whilst you are parked there. It is all down to timing i guess.
Its a hard life parking up your Roc
