Thanks GTI it really is a joke. Put's me in such a shit situation. Any other car I would have cancelled by now. But I loved my GT so much I know how good this will be. I would have thought being a loyal customers we would have got better service. Obviously brand does not mean alot at VW.

I don't think VW is any worse than other marques I buy about 4 Cars per year and have had similar crap service from BMW, Porsche & Audi I ordered a RS5 5 Weeks ago £5K deposit and still haven't received acknowledgement or receipt Went to a BMW garage to sign some papers once and the Salesman who I had the appointment with was on his Day off. Good news about my Scirocco is that it arrives at the dealership tomorrow

The main word in that sentence is "SHOULD!"

I've been told that the delay is due to the lack of DSG,VW customer service have told me to liaise with Inchcape VW with regards to a gesture of goodwill. The problem i have is a car delivered in JUL will be worth the same price in two years as the same car delivered in MAR.If it gets put back to AUG i will wait until SEP for that reason. It would be interesting to hear if anyone else is having the same problem with delays due to DSG on any other scirocco model cheers.

Which way do you peeps wish to go as there's a separate topic running specifically on the "R"'s DSG delay problem????

I'll splice this last post with reference here???

Car Was Dockside 6th of March
in the UK on the 16th
and I'm still waiting for it to appear at the dealers. was told it would arrive tuesday , then of it will be here weds
fingers crossed it arrives tomorrow ...
Hi Folks,

I was emailed this information on Thursday afternoon:
"Update today is the Scirocco R is now showing as "Awaiting Ship" which means it has been receipted at Emden, Germany for the next Boat to the UK."
I couldn't get any more information from VW today because it's Easter Holiday time, but I've been promised an update next Tuesday.
I only have 10 days left (including today) before I fly back to my overseas job until mid-May, and from reading Anakins post above, it took 10 days to get from dockside to the UK.
My dealer also reckons it normally takes 2 days for the car to reach the dealership after it arrives in the UK, and another 1 day for them to get it ready for the customer. So that gives it 7 days sailing on the high seas, that's assuming it sailed today of course.

So how would you rate my chances for taking delivery on or before Monday 12th April?

Have a Nice Day :)
George T. Smith
P.S. I really don't want to pick up the car late on the 12th, only to have to drive it straight home and into the garage

Mine is suppose to be rolling out the factory this week, weather ill see it before april is another question. Dont know how VW can justify saying there was only going to be 250 made, make us (who put deposits down back in nov) wait over 6 months to be able to pick one up when people are now buying display models. if i knew id have just waited stuck my deposit in the bank and sat pritty till a model came to a dealer that i liked. ive not ordered anything special on my car just the standard optional extras. My dealer told me ages ago that was to pick it up about a month ago but then i got a call saying he had made a mistake and he was sorry, so im still waiting. Im just hoping im bothered by the car by the time i get init or wether the spark would have run out by then.

Guys - stick it out.

I ordered mine first week in November and collected it on thursday. I ordered thro scrappage scheme so I had the worry that I would miss out on the £2k discount as there was a 4 month time limit.

The Scirocco R is awesome. When word gets out how good this car is its going to be in demand. And a future classic. Puts my old Edition 30 to absolute shame. Needless to say I am long in the tooth and I used to have Mk2 GTIs and Corrrado etc. The Scirocco R is special. Be patient and you will not regret it.

Hi Folks,

Well my long wait is 'almost' over! I received a call from my dealer on Wed afternoon, and was told that my R should arrive in the UK on the 9th April (today). So if you factor in the 2 days to get transported to the dealer, and another 1 day for the dealer to do whatever they need to do to the car, that means the car ought to be ready to drive away on Tuesday 13th April. And when do I travel back to my work? Oh yes...Tuesday 13th April!!!
But I'm due back home on Wednesday 12th May , so I should finally be able to pick up the R on Thursday 13th May. :)
I daresay that I'll be drooling over pictures of it, on my first full day back at work!

Have a Good One!

Mine should be being built this week (ordered it on Dec 29th). DBP but no DSG or Pana roof. Dealer told me last week that it was still on for being built this week so fingers crossed that he has a clue! He has also sent my request for the 3 year service pack (£250) to be thrown in to VW GB as I have subsequently added more options in the time from order to build (leather & folding mirrors) and was also charged 2010 prices despite ordering it in 2009. Fingers crossed all over the place then!

btw...u asking for VW to give u the 3 year service pack for FREE or u adding it to your order?

That £250 deal is only for 3 basic oil changes...nothing else is included!

I almost changed to that until i got told what it covers. So I'm staying with my full service and maintenance plan.
