UPDATE
Halfords Silicone Lubricant working really well on my windows and boot. It's not got stuck again and I can highly recommend it!
Mind you it hasn't gone back down to -12°C this week. It's only been between -1 and -3°C.
Give it a go... I'm happy.

Had my windows stick for the first time this morning even though I'd used Gummipfledge. One thing I found though was that the since my drivers side was facing the road it was frozen and didn't go down. However, my passenger side was facing my block of flats (the width of a pavement away - no garden or anything) and it was fine. Ended up getting in the passenger side and climbing over - not easy in any car, especially hard in a Scirocco!
Lesson of the day, park with the driver side towards any buildings/shelter that will protect it from the elements.

I have a 500ml water bottle that I fill with hot water (tap hot, not kettle) and squirt it round the window edge. Then it opens just fine. Works a treat. Good for unsticking the wipers too.

So I read this thread and went out and bought some Silicone Lubricant from Halfords (see can pic below). Only £3.99 so worth a punt.

I sprayed it onto a cotton cloth and applied it by rubbing it well into the rubber seals all around where the window slides/locates. I tested it by opening and closing both doors many, many times to make sure the silicone was well worked in.
I'll let you know how it performs in the frost.

Got some myself last week, windows opened without a problem.

It repels moisture and in theory stops the glass sticking in the seals. I squirted a good dose up into the seals yesterday and so far so good........it was -5c here last night and opened first time this morning!
Is this the same as 'Halfords Silcone Spray' ? (£3.99) and is it safe to use on rubber window seals ?.
