Had a phonecalll from my dealer today.

My wk 48 build was on the Suar Vigo, arrived and I am picking up on Saturday morning.

As above, the dealer said there were more ships coming in, including another one from EMDEN into SHEERNESS which is en-route as we speak, due in sometime tomorrow morning, called the AUTOPROGRESS. As well as the other one, mentioned above.

Hope this will help some of you.

The wait is nearly over!!

This is mad! Ur all stalkers! If ships could take out restraining orderrs... i was wk 46 and only collectig next Monday! Real customers seem to be alot more important to VW than staff! I guess that is the right way round but a little annoying.

Update 10.12.09 @ 23:00 : Its looks like the Hoegh Chennai is NOT leaving Setabul on the Friday 11.12.09 at 17:00. If she is on the express run, Sheerness Monday 14.12.09 at 09:00ish. Port call cancelled 10/12/09, 21:00. Ship not stopping at Setabul and now going to Newcastle, not Sheerness. No replacement, Suar Vigo turned away from Setabul on 10/12/09 at 13:00.

Otherwise the "stopper", the African Highway leaving on Saturday 12.12.09 at 01:30 for Emden, maybe via Dublin first, she will either call in at Sheerness on the way to Emden or after Emden goes to Sheerness or the cars are transferred to another Ship at Emden and like this week end up in Grimsby, 3 days slower than the express run.

Will have to see what AFRICAN HIGHWAYs route is tomorrow 11th Dec ie. if Sheerness is on the sailing plan. May be not enough UK vehicles at Setabul to warrant dedicated ship to UK only.

(That's hopefully Build Complete Wks 49 & 50 covered. So end of Wk51-ish earliest. Wk52 if your dealer is smart about it at the UK receiving port.)

Next ships from Portugal have appeared on the schedules. Both leaving Setabul on Friday 24 Dec'09 (Wk52). One a "Sheerness Express" arriving Sheerness Monday 28th Dec. Ship is L'Audace (sister ship Suar Vigo), currently in St.Nazaire. The other is African Highway going to Emden, arriving 30th Dec.

Next ships have sailed from Setabul in Portugal. The express is the L'Audace, left for Sheerness direct on 24.12.09 and arrives Sheerness 29.12.09 at 01:15. The second ship is the African Highway, left 25.12.09 and is going to Emden.

RW1, I have been trying to track the L'Audace on the Marine AIS website but cant find it do you have any info on it?
The L'Audace is off Cherbourg ( 11:15 - 17 knots, Hdg: 060' ) West, range 60 miles.

The African Highway is out in the Bay of Biscay. (Cars will transfer in the port of Emden for the UK.)

Hi all. Can't believe I only found this site yesterday. My Scirocco R order just changed to 5a today. How can I find out which ship it's on (or make a calculated guess) in order for me to track it. Thanks for the help.

Your car can sit at Setubal port for anywhere between a few days and a couple of weeks before it gets on a ship. It all depends on shipping capacity and there's 2 ships a week.

You will need to call Volkswagen customer services who will advise when the next boat is due. However, they will only be able to tell you if your car is on that ship after the ship has left the port so you would need to call them again.

Your car might make it on the next boat due to capacity issues so be aware of that.

I meant might not make it on the next boat...

Anyhow, you're moving into the later stages of the waiting game so not too long to go.

Cheers - I figured that's what you meant. I don't suppose anybody has the number I should ring. Or is it just the main contact number on the website?

Yes just the general customer service number. They will put you on hold and go check with the team which has all relevant information. You can't speak to them yourself as they're not customer facing.

My car took a week to get on a ship from the date it was built. I think that's a normal time frame. Boats get delayed too which can add a few days...
