I get this skip when one track ends and another starts, will look into the ipod settings see if anything in there is the likely cause!

I also get this "Media In w/out function" but it ONLY happens after "Basement Jaxx -Feelings Gone" has ended lol. Strange

Mine has just come back from garage, they told me there was fault with Media-in connection (a known fault). They have replaced the connector and now it works without fault.

Hi Jon123, how long have you been using it since the 'fix', has it fixed the problems completely? And who is your dealer?

Yes, I had my MDI connector unit changed and no further incident of the Media-In issue, I do however now have the slight drop out during track change and I have had a couple of times the listings are not available but it still plays the tracks.!!!??

Mine had all of the above faults, plus it has now developed a new one. If i press the mute button on the steering sheel, when i resume from mute i often get the message 'Media In: Dev w/o function'. I then have to either disconnect the ipod and reconnect, or disconnect, re-boot it, then reconnect. It's driving me mad. It also doesn't see to charge the ipod now....

Hi, I too have had this problem but I don't think that it is a physical problem with the connector, at least in my case. I have an old 20GB mono iPod which I leave connected. If I skip tracks several times this fault pops up and is repeatable. I tried my wife's 30GB colour iPod or my own iPod Touch I don't get the problem.

Hi there - Did you find a fix for this skip problem. You get a second of the next track, then the track starts for real - Horrible!

Certainly improved things for me - still not perfect though
Might be worth putting it in the Wiki

I wonder if those who don't experience the skip can let us know what kind of iPod (generation and software) they're using.

My iPod Touch 1st gen with 3.1.2 software definitely has a more noticeable jump than my old 4th gen ipod, I'd consider buying a new one if I knew it would work flawlessly!

Thanks
M.
