Mixed opinions about this here but with most people saying they would reject the car. Personally I wouldn't. As maisbitt says a new engine this early in isn't going to affect the service history and gives you leverage to get some freebies. Let's face it, cars like most things these days, are modular items. Meaning that you can replace a part with a new part without having any impact to the rest. A straight engine swap if done properly won't have any impact on the rest of the car and once the works done it will be good as new.

It seems that whenever we buy something these days and it turns out to be faulty we want a replacement rather than a repair. Now that's fine if you're talking about Fast Moving Consumer Goods/Electronics where the goods are stocked plentifully and made cheaply but when talking about something that is made to order and takes around 4 months to arrive, why not just let them replace the faulty bit, happy in the knowledge that the item will then be good as new and fully backed up by an official warranty.
