Just fitted these today, but I seem to be getting a very slight flickering when they fire up and they also dim slightly when the windows go back up, is this something you're experiencing?
Lovely ride by the way!

Cheers.
Checked this out tonight and yes very slight flickering on fire up but didn't have any dimming when the windows went back up. The flickering I can deal with as it's hardly noticeable + they look so much better than standard ones.

Got a little bored today waiting for my gloss black front VW badge to turn up so decided to take the original off as I won't be using the car for the next few days. These are the only 'tools' you need + the Mrs hairdryer.
Warm up the badge with the hairdryer to soften the glue then start on one edge with an old store card to lift it away. Once lifted use the dental floss to 'slice' under the badge to fully remove it. Heat up the remaining clumps of glue with the hairdryer and peel off then use a glue remover (autosmart tardis is always a safe bet) to remove the rest.
And a little arty one!
Hopefully the new badge comes soon.

Finally had a chance to fit the spacers. I went 12mm all round as recommended by 'Victor' (there is a link to where I got these from on page 1).
As all the wheels were coming off it gave me a chance to give everything a tidy up (paint the hubs gloss black, seal the arches and give the calipers a good clean).
I also gave the wheels a hit and sealed them with Poorboys Wheel Sealant.
Wheels back on, step back and admire your work! Looks so much better.
And a little comparison.
Can't wait to get the springs fitted now, booked in Wednesday this week.

So time for a bit of lowering. VWR springs giving a drop of around 20-25mm.
I found a local garage to fit them for £120 which I thought wasn't too bad.
Before showing you the results I also had a chance over the weekend to finally give the car a proper detail and get some sealant on her. Products used:
Paintwork was generally in good condition and only slightly swirled so after washing and claying (using a clay mitt which are superb by the way) I used megs 205 on a green pad. I then sealed the paint using the werkstat acrylic kit. This kit has actually been discontinued but is brilliant on white/silver/pearlescent paint. Firstly you use 'prime' which is a chemical paint cleaner that readies the paint for the sealant. The sealant is called 'jett' and gives a brilliant gloss finish. The more layers you build up the better the finish/protection. I managed to get four layers on after allowing a 30 minute cure time in between. And the results:
And those pesky exhaust tips got a seeing too as well. Wire wool and some autosol:
It looks so much better since being lowered and spaced. Ill do some better comparisons when I get some time but here's a quick before and after shot:
I also did a quick video to show how well the werkstat kit works. Just look at that beading!

Regarding spacers, looking at investing in 12mm for each wheel also, but don't know a ton about variation between models. Do you guys know if both the spacers and bolts linked above will be OK for the GT vs. R? Any reason why you didn't get the bolts through DC Performance? Was it just price? Cheers!

I can't really remember to be honest. Being a tight arse I probably saved myself 20 pence doing it that way!

I'm actually quite happy with how she sits. Definitely room for a bigger drop but I'm not really a fan of dropping the arch below the top of the wheel/tyre.

Service time tomorrow so thought I better give the engine bay a quick tidy up.
She's also developed a couple of really annoying rattles/knocking noises over the past few months which I'm hoping will be sorted at the same time. The first sounds like it's coming from behind the dash area and the second sounds like it's coming from around the rear passenger wheel area.
Having had a quick search they seem like common issues. Anybody had similar?

I had a really annoying rattle coming from behind my dash on my Facelift R. spent days driving about banging and applying pressure to certain things in the car to try make it stop but nothing! Long story short i managed to track it down to the drivers side scuttle panel vibrating/hitting on the strut top mount underneath it. i cured it by lifting the scuttle panel by removing the rubber trim holding it down and stuck some double sided sticky tape where it was catching. problem sorted! this might be the same noise so hope it helps!

Any pic where the rattle is? I might have a similar rattle!
