the UK ruling on numberplates are as follows.. (source The plate market
http://www.theplatemarket.com/display_o ... umberplate very handy link)
Number plate font
All number plates made after 31st August 2001 must display the mandatory font. Number plates made prior to this date must be substantially the same.
Stylised letters (or fixing bolts which alter the appearance of the letters) are not allowed.
so sorry the stylised font won't be allowed.
That's interesting. So why it's offered on different sites and you can order these plates? I also seen the plates with this exact stylised font on car with reg 54 recently.
The sites selling these modified plates class them as show plates, and it probably says somewhere on the site (in tiny wording no doubt!) that the plates are only for off-road show use, and not legal on UK roads.

I was considering it while choosing the plates but it was pointed out to me that mk3 is Type 13 so I took the one with 13.

You can still get (R1OCCO) if you got a spare £3500. Think you need an S at the beginning to make them work.

Have just taken the plunge and brought a plate for the car
SC59CCO
what's your opinion on this ?
Thanks
Think it's alright - at least it has two Cs, and doesn't just look like you can't spell.
Surely numberplates with the car's name on are completely passe, though?

I think they're alright but unless you can get one that looks very similar then it looks stupid

My wife thinks I'm stupid for spending 26k on a roc, so why change a habit of a lifetime, bet if the roc was in a ring she wouldn't think so.
Ha ha its great being STUPID.
