Hi pokeiarda, thank for the comments. I would appreciate any 'relevant important points', I can use to FIRE at the vw retailer I intend to contact. I'm Thinking to 'blag it', a "goodwill ££gesture", under the 6 year sales of goods..blah blah. Not many other options.

My dealer knew about the issue and the technician knew straight away what the problem was. They said if vw wouldn't support me that tbey would offer some reimbursement and vw would have to match it. All the images i see are of a defective clutch unit. Only mine has been chipped. If they won't help then i would recommend that you get the work done somewhere other than vw.
Pm me if you need photos and stuff.

Thanks for the help. Spoke to v.w. and retailer. Not a recall etc, etc. Also, My case,.... car is out of warranty by 2 yrs. Already had (rapid) repairs done, "outside the v.w. network", (PRIOR to knowing the cluch/pressure plate etc "is an issue"). Lesson for next time........ check out with V.W. first.
