What is it with the ride height that a ot of people dont like??
It's too high up! Even the lowest seat setting is still fairly high compared to what I was used to (1 and 3 series BMWs)
eh, they are talking about the car body ride height on its suspension not the drivers seat!

I'd like the display on the dash which shows what gear you're in to be larger
buy some smaller sunglasses!

Only two things really bug me.
The view out the back.
I wish the MFD had an option to have a big gear number on it for the DSG. Seems like a simple thing they could have programmed. Most other paddle shift boxes seem to have a nice large number. Oh and the fact the numbers go the wrong way. 654321 instead of 123456.

Oops, I got that after reading further down the thread.
Ok, something I don't like..
Can't lower the seat enough, even at the lowest setting, it's still too high compared to what I'm used to.
After almost a month I can't seem to get an optimum position where I can comfortably reach the steering wheel without stretching my arms without having my feet cramped too close to the pedals. And I'm an averageish 5'9" height with reasonably normal proportions!

My gripes are:
-gap between wheel and arch
-no side skirts... really looks like it's missing it
-no diffuser style on the rear
-DRL
-accelerator padel being too close
-(could be wrong) no rear cup holders
-steeling wheel goes to the right a little and is too high
But that's it really... I love it

I was a bit disappointed with the cars handling at high speeds, with the acc set too Sport it is very skittish and overly harsh giving a very poor quality of ride on the autobahn.
Comfort and normal are marginally better, but at the cost of dulled throttle response
I suppose I'll get used to it in time.

Overall I am delighted with the car but I still find the reflection of the air vents in the windscreen a distraction.
Lack of storage space inside the car is also annoying.
The door pockets are so shallow they will hardly hold anything.

yep, pain in the you know what,..saw a repeat of top gear yesterday, where they modded a renault avantime, long doors but double hinged for clever opening, pity VW hadnt thought of that, the avantime was 7 years old too!

Not just the 'roc but a number of newish VW's I have driven recently - The Accelerator pedal is set back from the brake pedal such that you have to pull your foot up and across to hit the brake - not just across. On a Passat I nearly got my foot stuck under the brake pedal when I had to brake suddenly which was just a little scary. Anyone else find this?

Yep, me too when I first got it but used to it now. The instant bite and way I have to brake in the roc has led to a few hard pull ups in the wifes car as the brakes are so different to the roc's. Overall the pedals are wrong, I am 5' 8" and find with my arms in the correct position my right knee is up off the end of the seat. I reckon the accelerator could do with being about 2-3 inches further away. Its position is great at full throttle though so thats my excuse for speeding.

Ride Height
Sun Glasses holder too small
Cup Holder in Front
Other than that I am very happy!

Regarding seating position - Exactly!, couldn't agree more.

No dark headlining - thought this was a GT trait, but my GT TDI has light headlining and cloth seats. 2 demonstrators in the dealership were GT 2.0TSIs with Leather. So is the dark headlining for those with leather, or a 2.0TSI exclusive thing, or do VW just put either light or dark in randomly?

I have a 2L TSi in Pewter Grey with Anthracite leather and my headlining is dark Grey / Black.
I don't know what criteria gives you light headlining though.

My main gripes are only 2 (and I am a fussy f***er!)
1. The back seems to be less aggressive and not as bold in style as the front of the car
2. Why oh why oh why did they not give the interior of the car the style to match the exterior. It needs that personality inside.
Thats it, the rest I am reasonably happy with, and the above did not do anything to make me for mthe TT instead, still preferred the ROC after a detailed test drive on both cars.
