Any ideas?!

Even from the boot sticker? Maybe I can get it from that? Again - any ideas?

I miss RW1 for his knowledge :(
Activate through VCDS, otherwise, the Video In Motion hack on the internet seems to be able to activate the secret menu. What exactly do you want to find out?! The firmware?
If you have no VCDS, and don't want to install the VIM - best thing is to pull the unit out and read the label on it, it gives a software/hardware version.

Note: VIM (Video In Motion) is a hack/software edit that someone has made for RNS510 units, to be able to continue playing DVDs when the vehicle is in motion. See here

Now spent £40 and could have bought a disc for £29.99 off the original link. If I find out what's wrong then I will still have 3 more discs left for the next upgrades so still just about in pocket.
Try using IMGBurn instead of Nero, and make sure you verify the disc when it's burnt (this option is selected by default)
