The R must have a fair bit firmer suspension as standard as I'm also on 19s and in comfort it's like a boat. Mine spends nearly all it's life in Normal with the odd excursion into Sport.

Could easily live without it though.

in the first few k miles i could not tell any diffrence, but 19k later there is a massive diffrence between sport and comfort. imo.
i also find the throttle sharpens up a touch in sports. imo.

I can defo notice a difference when changing modes, stiffer suspension and heavier steering, but I don't have better thottle response imo, I do only have the 140 tdi not the R so it might differ.

I can notice the difference in ride quality and steering weight but I wouldn't pay if it were an option

I can certainly tell the difference between the 3 modes, but think it probably depends on the road your on at the time. I normally leave it in normal, but switch to sport on country roads and, if my daughter is snoozing in the car or it is a long journey, stick it in comfort on the motorway.

As for responsiveness in sport, I am sure i can tell there is a difference in the throttle response, but don't know if I am imaging it due to other suggesting there is a difference.
