I have emailed www.vwcruise.com about whether these can be turned off with VAGCOM or otherwise, and if this would be permanent.

I will post their reply on this thread once I get it.

Gareth from www.vwcruise.com emailed back, to say that the DRLs can be turned off, but can only be turned back on using VAGCOM or other diagnostic equipment.

He said they can do it for £40 if you take your car to them (south London). See the website for their details.

so they have to be turned off by vag com and then back on by vag com? Like the Golf then?

I've got vag-com. If we can find out what blocks need to be changed, I'll be happy to do this for anyone near me for the more reasonable fee of 4 tins of beer :p

even though ive had to give my car back temporarily (see other post), my dealer said he had turned the DRLs off on my car, and that it was possible to turn them back on again with the computer

Well thats your problem them. Doesn't like running without them :eyepop: . Fingers crossed for today
