thanks, tom!
so... opened my bonnet, rare for me, to check the oil only to find the top half of the oil filler cap missing! no idea where it went. just replaced it with one from an audi r8.

lined the small driver's glovebox with felt today. verdict: fluffy.
simple enough; made templates, cut out sticky backed felt and stuck it to glovebox insides - easy.
oh and i made a .pdf of them, which is here:

Great idea mark.

Where did you get the felt from.?

amazon, devil, £1.59 each, got two sheets just to be sure: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
if i was being picky i'd say the felt doesn't match the other glovebox perfectly - if you can get some black sticky backed velvet i'd try that...?

well it seems there's no avoiding the inevitable and those arches have been winding me up recently so today was spacers day.
really wanted some black anodized h&r 10mm on the back and 15 on the front. couldn't get my impatient little hands on any in a day so went with 12mm eibachs all round. probably a bit too much at the back and not enough at the front i was guessing...
here they are - also got longer bolts and locking nuts. shame the little black plastic volkswagen caps don't fit over the bolts but i'll live.
test fitting to see if everything lines up and screws in where it should:
here's the new offset, much better:

Used your glove box template to line my drivers glovebox with felt. Was pretty much perfect. Great job indeed.

Your car looks stunning pal!
Been looking at wheel spacers myself, the forge ones are a little bit cheaper than eibach however they are anodised black which is what I wanted. From your pics I can see that non of the wheels protrude from the arches, is that the case as the forge ones are 11mm and didn't want any issues. Can I also ask what length bolts and type you went for please?

yeah i wanted anodised black but had a day off and all i could get were the eibachs so will probably just paint them black like the hubs instead of another set. post a pic of yours if you get them for us.
the outside of the back wheels sit pretty much right below the highest point of the arch, fronts sit inside a bit more, maybe 3mm. no issues yet with them so far but i am on vwr springs which are higher than h&rs and stiff as hell.
and here's the bolt info:
extended bolts: 14x1.5 bolts, 17mm, 40mm RAD - sixteen of these needed
locking bolts: 14x1.5 locking bolt 40mm - four of these needed
