Looking at whether I can install the OEM bonnet latch on without cracking the carbon fibre. Apart from aesthetics anyone can open my bonnet manually at the moment!

Can you post up some pictures of the under side of the bonnet so we can see what you're up against. I work with carbon fibre and composites, all be it on aircraft but its all the same thing.

Also, I'm sure you can buy locking versions of those bonnet catches if you do need to stick with them.

Thanks James the Aerocatch system is what I have at the moment however was trying to work out if I can install the OEM latch onto the underside of the bonnet so I can do without the external latch system. This particular bonnet is borrowed off a race car and my own version will be here in about 4 weeks. They do not come pre drilled so if I can help it prefer not to have the catch system as I agree with a few f the comments here that its a bit over the top. Good to know though that there is a locking variant should I have no alternative.

I will take a few pictures today and post and see what you think.

Cheers.

Yes, I have just done my alignment and its all well now. Right now Im still rubbing during hard cornering and heavy acceleration with VWR streetsport coilovers. Wonders if the coilovers is too soft, makes me think twice of getting a 9.5 ET35 rims to make it more flush. Dilemma!

I am not sure what you are rubbing on...I currently run 8.5x19 ET30 with 245 / 35 on the front and 10x19 ET40 with 265 / 30 on Eibach Pro kit lowering springs and I haven't had the slightest scrape no matter how hard I push it...
Mine isn't lowered as much as yours may be but still...

I agree with Andrew, you shouldn't be rubbing at all with that tyre size. Mine rubs on the very slight occasion at the rear left when I am carrying a few passengers and on bad roads. I am running 265 wide tyres. Camber will help at the rear.

How low are you...

My ride height is almost same as yours. I'm thinking if its the coilovers are too soft..

We were lucky to have the Germans in town so we fine tuned the tune to accommodate the water meth kit and smooth out a few other bugs...

Live tuning with CPC's new state of the art dyno. A few anxious moments as the car just clears the rolling platform.

Wow that was some nice numbers!
Whats your enginge setup?
Congratz!!

Edit, looked at your building threat @ vwgolf.

Was that dyno run with water/meth?
Would be interested with a 98 pump fuel run too!

That dyno run was on 98 RON with no water meth. :-)

What's the big difference between a K04 and a K04 hybrid?

The hybrid uses the same K04 turbo externally looks the same externally however is upgraded internally. It is high flowed with larger compressor and turbine wheels. It is designed to bolt on as OEM.

The turbo is ideal for street and track applications with quick response and awesome mid range.

The power delivery is mad as you can see from the dyno results but its the torque number that is impressive.

On a further note to the water meth kit and power figures achieved;

I didn't want to be 100% dependent on it so I have left the tune file as is and instead installed it with an On/off switch. Logs taken so far have proven what its primary function is and that being to cool the intake charge. Whilst I didn't get an increase in power, logs taken on a hot day with outside temps in the 30's (Celsius) and ambient temp in the 40's the car maintained power at the DYNO in the range of 245 to 252 kw at the wheels. These results were consistent with power figures taken on the dyno when temps were in the low 20's! Timing was not pulled in higher RPM's due to heat soak with the meth ON and results were within 0.3 degree of timing. Without water meth switched off it pulled back up to 6 degrees in timing. So it does work!

As a general rule (or really just to have some fun) I turn it on when temps hit 30 degrees and I can instantly feel the engine response. Liken it to a cool day when you take it for a run or like my previous cars which ran on aviation fuel. Unfortunately my tune does not allow for two files i.e. normal or race so I will experiment a bit more with it in the coming months.

Water meth is definitely a worthwhile upgrade for countries with warmer summer climates and worth mucking around with.

Absolutely stunning mate! So when is the 4wd conversion happening so you can really get that power down? ;)
