Just had my wastegate fix done under warranty! Free
Seems to be 90% better still not completely gone! But not obvious any more

When others got it fixed did the sound completely disappear? Or just get quieter?

I don`t notice the sound anymore however when i took mine in it had only just started to rattle.

It disappeared completely on mine on which it had been very noticeable since day 1.

had mine done under warranty. can't hear it at all any more, in fact i'd totally forgotten about it!

I just got the part from vw and he said he don't think it will fit as I have a different turbo. My turbo is the standard ko4 and I have a 2010 scirocco R, does the R use the same clip as the GT? I tried fitting it today and there was no way I could get it on , my wastegate rod look different to the one in the YouTube vid

don't think the r suffers from it, just the 2.0 gt. correct me if i'm wrong.

Just had mine done - £15 for the part - £60 for labour (dealer). Its like a new car again. Thanks to the forum! The dealer had no clue until i gave them the TSB.

Hi guys I think I have this issue does it sound like a metal rattle mine happens on decelerating is this a problem I should be worried about I just bought the car a few days ago second hand is this a terminal issue or no really can anyone help pls

The wastegate rattle is on acceleration only, around 2-2,500 rpm, particularly in high gears. It's not terminal, just bloody irritating. It doesn't sound like your issue if you're getting it on decel.
